Clare Bird Sightings

An immature White-tailed Eagle flew high over Clonmoney/Bunratty this morning heading south towards Limerick (John Rattigan). The drake Lesser Scaup and drake greater Scaup were at Lough Gash (John N Murphy). The drake Ring-necked Duck was at Roo Lake (John N  Murphy).  There were 80 Black-throated Divers  (Jeff Copner & John N Murphy), along with one first-winter Glaucous Gull between Black Head and Gleninagh Castle.  Between Black Head and Aughinish Island there were 130 Great Northern Divers, 120 Common Scoter, 14 Long-tailed Ducks, 90 Red-breasted Mergansers four Little Egrets and 200 Brent Geese. There were three Yellowhammers at Mullaghmore. Three Little Egrets were at Ballyallia Lake.
