There was one Little Egret at Bunratty.
One Jay was near Setrights, Cratloe.
Tuesday 30th December 2008
There were four Black-throated Divers and seven Snow Buntings at Ballyvaughan.

Monday 29th December 2008
One Ruff and 52 Whooper Swans were at Lough Atedaun.

There were 83 Little Grebes and 20 Gadwall at Lough Inchiquin.
Five Woodcock and one Jay were at Dysart.  
male and two female Blackcap were seen in Oak Park Ennis.
Two Jay were spotted in Lees Road Wood Ennis this afternoon.
Sunday 28th December 2008
There was a GOSHAWK near Granaghan Castle, Fenloe Lake (John N Murphy),
this is only a third county record. 
One female Hen Harrier, one Ruff, 250 Golden Plover, 40 Dunlin, 30 Black-tailed
Godwits and seven Whooper Swans were at Lough Atedaun.
Three Woodcock were at dysart. 
One Jack Snipe was at Darragh.
One female Blackcap and a Woodcock were in a garden at Oak Park, Ennis this evening.
One male Blackcap was at Applewood, Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
Saturday 27th December 2008
The drake Green-winged Teal was at Bell Harbour (John N Murphy).
There were 28 Brent Geese and 15 Great Northern Divers at Ballyvaughan.
There were 14 Woodcock at Gortcoirce, Dysart.
Seventeen Red-throated Divers and 28 Brent Geese were at Liscannor. 
Friday 26th December 2008
A flock of 44 White-fronted Geese, one Merlin and
12 Pintail were at Lough Muckanagh, the Burren.
A group of 48 Whooper Swans were at Lough Atedaun, Corofin.
Fifteen Red-throated Divers were at Liscannor. 
Thursday 25th December 2008
Over 50 Greylag Geese were at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
Wednesday 24th December 2008
A male Blackcap was singing this morning at Applewood, Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
Tuesday  23rd December 2008
The WATER PIPIT was at Clahane (Jeff Copner).
Off Loop Head today there were over 3,000 Guillemots and 10 Gannets.
One Peregrine, 50 Snipe, 24 Rock Doves and four Ravens were on Loop Head.
There were 43 White-fronted Geese at Lough Muckanagh along 
with one Great Northern Diver. 
One Little Egret was at Cloghaun Lough.
One Little Egret was at Kilcredaun Marsh.
A flock of 80 Barnacle Geese were at Moveen.
Two Little Egrets were in a field with Cattle near Moyasta.
One Kingfisher was at Moyasta Creek.  
Monday 22nd January 2008
A Common Sandpiper was at Clarecastle Quay this evening.
A flock of 62 Greylag Geese were at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
Five Woodcock and a Water Rail were at Rath Lake, Corofin.
Three Woodcock were at Cregg, Lahinch.
One fisrt-winter Iceland Gull was at Barrtra.

There were two Black-throated Divers at Finvarra Point.
One Chiffchaff was at Liscannor.
One male and one female Blackcap were at Oak Park, Ennis.
Seven Greylag Geese were at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
Two male and one female Hen Harriers were at Lough Muckanagh. 
One albino Stonechat was at New Quay.

two Chough and two Ravens.
One Carrion Crow was at Applewood, Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
One Iceland Gull was at Liscannor.
One male Blackcap was at Sixmilebridge.
One male Blackcap was at Willow Park, Ennis.

Two male and two ring-tailed Hen Harriers  and 35 Greenland 
White-fronted Geese were at Lough Muckanagh, the Burren.
One Great Northern Diver was at Lough Cullaune, the Burren.
A flock of 64 Greylag Geese were at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus. 
One Dipper was on the Claureen River near Darragh.
There were 15 Whooper Swans at Keevagh, Quin.
Sunday 14th December 2008
The WATER PIPIT was still at Clahane, Liscannor (Dave McNamara),
along with one Twite.
One male and one female Blackcap were at Inishgrove on the Lahinch Road.
A flock of 44 White-fronted Geese were at Lough Muckanagh.
There were 80 Ringed Plovers on the Inagh Estuary.
A flock of 65 Whooper Swans were at Lough Inchiquin, Corofin.
Two Woodcock were at Gort Coirce, Dysart.

One Little Egret flew over Dromore Lake, Ruan this afternoon.
One Great Northern Diver was at Lough Cullaune, the Burren.

A flock of 58 Greylag Geese were at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
Monday 8th December 2008
The drake Green-winged Teal was at Bell Harbour (Tom Chadwick).
There was an eastern Jackdaw at the Clare County Council Car Park, Ennis (John N Murphy).
There were eight Snow Buntings on the Rine, Ballyvaughan.
A flock of 41 White-fronted Geese were at Lough Muckanagh with
one Great Northern Diver still on the Lough.
One female Hen Harrier and seven Goldeneye were at Lough Cullaun.
A colour ringed Lapwing was among a flock of 200 bird near Kells, Tubber.

This bird wearing the Green flag on its right leg had the letters ENX.
Sunday 7th December 2008
Over 30 Gulls were found dying on the beach at Kilkee today.
It is thought that the crow killer Sleep/Dozy Crow was used to kill these gulls.
The NPWS and Department of agriculture are looking into the case and could
possibly prosecute the individual that used this poison on the gulls.
Saturday 6th December 2008
One Great Northern Diver was at Lough Cullaune, the Burren.
Another Great Northern Diver and 23 Greenland White-fronted
Geese were at Lough Muckanagh, the Burren.
A flock of 48 Gadwall and 60 Tufted Ducks were at Dromore Lake.
There were 38 Little Grebes and 74 Tufted Ducks at Lough Gash,
Newmarket-on-Fergus.
Five Yellowhammers were at Ballycarroll, Barefield.

A male Hen Harrier was near Lough Cullane, the Burren.
One female Hen Harrier was at Corofin.
A flock of 43 White-fronted Geese were near Lough Muckanagh, the Burren.
One Water Rail was at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
Thursday 4th December 2008
Three Little Egrets and two Water Rails were at Ennistymon this evening.
Tuesday 3rd December 2008
The drake Ring-necked Duck was at Lough Gash (John N Murphy).
A flock of 43 Greenland White-fronted Geese were near Lough Muckanagh, the Burren.
Monday 2nd December 2008
The WATER PIPIT was still at Clahane (Dave McNamara).
One eastern Jackdaw was at Darragh (Finbarr MacGabhann).
One female Blackcap and one Jay were at Willow Park, Ennis.
A flock of 92 Tufted Ducks , three Goldeneye and 26 Little Grebes 
were on Lough Gash, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
A flock of 162 Whoopers Swans had built up at Ballygireen today.

One male and one female Blackcaps were in a garden at Ballymacahill, Ennis.
One Little Egret was at Ballyvaughan along side 20 Brent Geese and
10 Red-breasted Mergansers.
One Merlin and 50 Brent Geese were at Finvarra.
A flock of 100 Barnacle Geese were at Goleen west of Kilkee.
Over 100 Brent Geese were at Poulnasherry Bay.
There were 98 Whooper Swans at Ballygireen, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
