Saturday 31st January 2009
Two Twite were at Lurga Point, Quilty.
There was one adult Glaucous Gull, two first-winter Glaucous Gulls, one
first-winter Iceland Gull, five Brent Geese, one Red-throated Diver, 10 Great Northern Divers,
120 Purple Sandpipers, over 300 Turnstone and 200 Sanderling at Seafield, Quilty.
One adult and one first-winter Glaucous Gulls were at Lough Donnell.
One adult Iceland Gull and one first-winter Glaucous Gull were at the Marina in Kilrush.
One first-winter Glaucous Gull was at Kilkee.
Two Little Egrets were at Moyasta. 
One Merlin was at Spanish Point.
One Snow Bunting was near Querrin Graveyard.
Three Little Egrets were at Blackweir, Poulnasherry.

One Dipper was on the Claureen River.
Two male and one female Blackcap were in a garden at Oak Park Ennis,
Wednesday 28th January 2009
One drake Ring-necked Duck was at Ballyallia Lake (Finbarr McGabhann).
A flock of 28 Whooper Swans and two Ravens were at Drumcliff, Ballyallia.
There were two Green Sandpipers and two Common Sandpipers at Clarecastle Quay.
One first-winter Glaucous Gull was at Clahane.
There were 12 Woodcocks, one Jay and one Water Rail on the north shore of Lough Inchiquin. 
One Little Egret was at Ballyvaughan with another at New Quay.

Tuesday 27th January 2009
There were two Crossbills and two Ravens at Letteragh Woods.
Eight Woodcock were at Gortcoirce, Dysart.
A flock of 35 Whooper Swans were at Drumcliff, Ballyallia Lake, Ennis.
A Jay was seen at Lees Road Wood.
Monday 26th January 2009
The drake Green-winged Teal was at Bell Harbour (John N Murphy & John Rattigan).
Eight Black throated Divers, 16 Long-tailed Ducks and 50 Black Guillemots were off Aughinish.
One adult and one first-winter Glaucous Gulls were at New Quay.
One adult Mediterranean Gull and two Little Egrets were near Corronroo on the Clare/Galway border.
One Green Sandpiper and one Kingfisher was at Ballycorick Bridge, Ballynacally.
One Kingfisher and one Little Egret were at Islandavanna, Clarecastle.
A flock of 180 Brent Geese were at Lough Murree.

Sunday 25th January 2009
One Little Auk was off the causeway at Aughinish Island (Dave McNamara).
The drake Green-winged Teal was still at Bell Harbour (Dermot Breen, Neill Sharkey, Tom Chadwick).
One first-winter Glaucous Gull was near Shanmuckinish Castle.
There were 25 Black-throated Divers and  280 Great Northern Divers 
between the Flaggy Shore and the Rine on the North Clare coast.
There were five Snow Buntings at George’s Head Kilkee.
Also off the North Clare coast were 21 Long-tailed Ducks, 1,000’s of Razorbills,
200 Gannets and over 200 Black Guillemots.
There was one female Hen Harrier and 44 White-fronted Geese at Lough Muckanagh.

Saturday 24th January 2009
Four Black-throated Divers were at Finvarra Point and 36 Great
Northern Divers were at the Flaggy Shore, New Quay.
There were two first-winter Iceland Gulls at Kilkee Beach.
One Peregrine was seen  west of Kilkee.
One adult winter Glaucous Gull was at New Quay.
A flock of 222 Barnacle Geese were at Doonbeg.
There were 18 Greenland White-fronted Geese at Tullagher Bog.
A flock of 35 Greenland White-fronted Geese were at Lough Cullane along with
one male Hen Harrier,  28 Whooper Swans and two Raven.
One female Hen Harrier, five Little Egrets, 70 Pintail, eight Scaup, two Goldeneye,
18 Brent Geese and 128 Shellduck were at Poulnasherry Bay.
There were 35 Brent Geese and 125 Snipe at Querrin.
One Merlin and four Ravens were at Loop Head.
Another Merlin was at Lough Rath, Corofin.
Off the Bridges of Ross there were 8 Gannets, 16 Razorbills and four Guillemots.
One adult Glaucous gull was at Kilkee today.

Friday 23rd January 2009
Seven Black-throated Divers and one first-winter Little Gull
were off Gleninagh Pier, north Clare.
Three Black-throated Divers were off Ballyvaughan.
One Long-tailed Duck and 225 Brent Geese were at Finvarra Point. 
There were 28 Great Northern Divers and the Albino Great Northern Diver
off Black Head.
One Kingfisher was at Inishmurray Quay, Kildysart.
One Raven was at Booltiagh, Kilmaley.
Thursday 22nd January 2009
There was one first-winter Glaucous Gull, one Peregrine and
ten Great Northern Divers off Liscannor today.
One Grey Phalarope was at Clahane.
Two Sandwich Terns were on the Flaggy Shore, North Clare.
There were eight Woodcock at Clifden, Corofin.
One Merlin was at Killard Bay.
Wednesday 21st January 2009
The Forster’s Tern was spotted off Doorus Pier on the Clare/Galway border (Dave McNamara).
A second-winter Iceland Gull was at Doonbeg Bay.
A flock of 1,000 Golden Plover were in fields near Killard, Doonbeg. 
Seven Yellowhammer were in the Mullaghmore area.
At Drumcliff, Ballyallia there were 40 Whooper Swans.
There was a small flock of 20 Whooper Swans at Tullagher Bog.
There were 22 Whooper Swan were seen in Kells.
There was one male Blackcap at Willow Park, Ennis.
One male Blackcap was at Ballymacahill, Ennis.

Four Grey Phalaropes were at Liscannor.
Two first-winter and one third-winter Iceland Gull was seen at Clahane.
Three Yellowhammers were at Mullaghmore, the Burren.

Monday 19th January 2009
Two male Blackcap were seen at Oak Park Ennis.

Over thirty Redpoll along with a female Blackcap were spotted on the Lahinch Road
Sunday 18th January 2009
One Grey Phalarope was at Clahane today.
Fourteen Brent Geese and twelve Great Northern Diver were seen off Liscannor.
Two Little Egrets were at Lahinch Marsh.

Three male and one female Hen Harrier, thirty five White-fronted Geese, 
and one Jack Snipe were seen at Loch Muchanagh today. 
Four Grey Phalarope were off the pier at Liscannor. 
One Yellowhammer was at Ballymacahill, Ennis.
Three Yellowhammer were spotted close to Mullaghmore.

One male Blackcap was at Oak Park, Ennis.

There were 13 Black-throated Divers, one Little Egret and 50 Brent Geese at Finvarra.
There was one Merlin, 20 Stonechat and 12 Skylark at Clahane. 
One Woodcock was at Drumcliff, Corofin. 
Monday 12th January 2009
There were two drake Ring-neck Ducks at Lough Inchiquin (Dave McNamara).
One Great Northern Diver was at Lough Cullaun.
There was a flock of 50 Whooper Swans, 400 Lapwing and 350 Golden Plover
at Ballygireen, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
A flock of 200 Lapwing were at Ballycar Lough.

There were two Black-throated Divers off the Rine at Ballyvaughan.
Saturday 10th January 2009
There were three drake and one female Ring-necked Duck at Lough
Inchiquin, Corofin (John N Murphy & Dave McNamara).
One drake Ring-necked Duck was at Ballyallia Lake (John N Murphy).
One drake Ring-necked Duck was at Lough Gash, Newmarket-on-Fergus (John N Murphy).
One Common Sandpiper was at the Quay at Clarecastle.
The White-fronted Goose flock at Lough Muchanagh had built up to 44 this evening.
Also at Lough Inchiquin there were 146 Gadwall and 57 Whooper Swans.
There were 20 Whooper Swans at Lough Atedaun.
A flock of 24 Greylag Geese and one Raven were at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
One Merlin was at Tubber.
There were 134 Whooper Swans at Ballygireen.
A group of 32 Goldeneye and one Great Northern Diver were at Lough Muchanagh, the Burren. 
There were 60 Tufted Ducks and 12 Goldeneye at Fenloe Lake.
A large flock of 100 plus Coot and 70 Tufted Ducks were at Cullaunysheeda Lake, Kilkishen.
Two Woodcock were at Dysart.

There were two male and one female Ring-necked Ducks at Lough Inchiquin,
Corofin (Dave McNamara).
Also at Lough Inchiquin there were 112 Gadwall and 123 Tufted Ducks.
A small flock of 20 White-fronted Geese and 23 Goldeneye were at Lough Muchanagh.
One Water Rail was at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
One Red-legged Partridge was at Applewood, Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
One female Blackcap was at Ballymacahill, Ennis.
There was 11 Woodcock at Gortcoirce, Dysart.

One drake Ring-necked Duck was at Lough Inchiquin (Dave McNamara).
One male Ring-necked Duck was at Ballyallia Lake (Finbarr MacGabhainn)
along with one Little Egret and two Ravens.
There was a flock of 50 Great Crested Grebes at Brewer’s Bridge, Poulnasherry Bay.
There were 30 Goldeneye at Lough Muckanagh.
A flock of over 100 Snipe and two Jack Snipe were at Lough Atedaun.
A count of 92 Little Grebe was made at Lough Inchiquin.
One female Blackcap was at Ballymacahill.
One male Blackcap was at Oak Park.
One Wodcock was near Nora Hinchey’s on the Tulla, Clooney Road. 
Wednesday 7th January 2009
One male Hen Harrier, 31 Goldeneye, 50 Shovoler and seven Whooper Swans
were at Lough Muckanagh.
One male and one female Hen Harriers , seven Goldeneye were at Cullaun Lough.
There 106 Gadwall and 138 Tufted Ducks were at Lough Inchiquin. 
One Jay was at Darragh.

Tuesday 6th January 2009
There were two male Blackcaps at Oak Park, Ennis.
At Ballyallia Lake today there were 76 Shovelor, 1500 Wigeon,
360 Teal, 12 Gadwall, five Pintail, 15 Snipe, 150 Lapwing
and only three Whooper Swans.
A flock of 50 Tufted Ducks and 12 Goldeneye were at Fenloe Lake.
Five Woodcock were at Gortcoirce, Dysart.
One Merlin and 15 Stonechat were at Clahane.
There were 50 Whooper Swans and  40 Gadwall at Lough Inchiquin.
Monday 5th January 2009
Male Blackcaps were seen in St Michael’s Villas, Oak Park and on the Lahinch Road, Ennis.
One Dipper was on the Claureen River.

Sunday 4th January 2009
There were 32 White-fronted Geese,  150 Shovelor, ten Gadwall, ten Pintail
and 70 Tufted Ducks at Lough Muckanagh.
There were 67 Gadwall at Lough Inchiquin.
A flock of 1500 Wigeon, 50 Dunlin, 40 Black-tailed Godwits and 20 Whooper
Swans at Lough Atedaun.  
There were 150 Golden Plover and three Greenshank at Clahane.
A flock of 42 Brent Geese were at Liscannor.

Bell Harbour (Tom Chadwick).
There were seven Snow Buntings at the Rine, Ballyvaughan.

One male Hen Harrier was at Darragh.
One Little Egret was at the Shannon Airport Lagoon.
One Jack Snipe was at Shannon Town. 
Thursday 1st January 2009
A small flock of 20 Greylag Geese, 160 Wigeon, 45 Golden Plover and
40 Tufted Ducks were at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
