An adult Yellow-legged Gull, 34 Redshank, five Greenshank and a Kingfisher were at Loghill (TT).
A Spotted Redshank, 81 Redshank, 13 Greenshank, 15 Curlew, a Dunlin, 346 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and a Little Egret were at Robertstown (TT).
300 Redshank, ten Dunlin and five Little Egrets were at Askeaton (TT).

A Buzzard was seen at Herbertstown (Andrew Holmes).
41 Gadwall, 52 Tufted Duck, 108 Little Grebes and a Curlew were Coonagh (TT).

27 Gadwall, 37 Tufted Duck and 14 Swift were at Coonagh (TT).

A Green Sandpiper was on the Maigue at Banogue(Andrew Holmes).
14 Gadwall, ten Mallard, 33 Tufted Duck, five Pochard, a Swift and 80 Sand Martins were at Coonagh(TT).

A Buzzard was seen near Banogue (Andrew Holmes).


Sunday 6th August 2017

260 Redshank, a Greenshank, twelve Curlew and four Little Egrets were at Askeaton harbour.
34 Redshank, five Greenshank, seven Curlew, four Oystercatchers and ten Mallard were at Beagh Castle.
18 Curlew, seven Oystercatchers, eight Mallard, two Little Egrets and Grey Heron were at Ballysteen.


Saturday 29th July 2017

A report of a Nightjar churring at the southern end of Gooig Bog on a few evenings in mid July was received today(per Fergus Flood). Nightjars bred in small numbers in the County up to the 1960’s however there have been very few records since.
