Eight Waxwings were seen feeding on a crabapple tree on the Corbally Road this morning (Blair McClure), a nice start to the new year!
A Buzzard was at Clonshire, Adare (Geoff Hunt).
Two Greenshanks, six Redshanks, a Kingfisher, two Little Egrets, two Grey Herons and a Kestrel were on the Maigue at Adare.(Geoff Hunt)

A Goosander was seen at Corbally Weir this evening (Maura Turner). The 3rd winter Yellow-legged Gull was also present in the area earlier in the day (TT).
The Great Northern Diver was also seen again on the Shannon between the railway bridge and the tail race confluence (TT).

Three Green Sandpipers, six Redshank, a Greenshank, two Little Egrets and a Kingfisher were seen on the Maigue Estuary at Adare (Geoff Hunt). The colour-ringed Little Egret was ring as a nestling at Ardfry, Oranmore, Co. Galway on 15/6/2009.

A third winter Yellow-legged Gull was seen on the Shannon at Corbally today during the Limerick Branch Christmas Outing (TT et al.). This is the fifth record of the species in Limerick. a Kingfisher and a Dipper were also seen in the area.

One adult Ring-billed Gull was at Clancy Strand (John N Murphy).
There were 90 Gadwall (site record count), 13 Shoveler, 25 Wigeon, 20 Tufted Duck, 52 Lapwing, a Snipe and a Greenshank were at Coonagh (TT).
Up to 20 Great Black-backed Gulls and 55 Herring Gulls were on the Shannon at Limerick City today (TT).
