An Osprey was seen in Tarbert Bay during the Branch outing (D Farrer, M Turner et al). This is the second record of the species for the County, the first being at Castleconnell in 1864. A Curlew Sandpiper, 42 Knot, a Dunlin, 17 Greenshank, 60 Redshank, 20 Ringed Plover, seven Sanderling, 38 Black-tailed Godwits, four Bar-tailed Godwits, 32 Curlew, ten Little Egrets and 120 Teal were also seen during the outing.
A Whimbrel and a Litte Egret were at Ringmoylan.
A Buzzard was head calling at Ballysteen.
Two Litte Egrets were at Beagh Castle.

Mediterranean Gull at Tarbert (Tom Tarpey)
Three Mediterranean Gulls (two adult winter, one second winter), six Sandwich Terns, two Common Terns, a Razorbill, ten Great-crested Grebes and nine Little Egrets were in Tarbert Bay.
Further west along the Estuary, nine Curlew Sandpipers, a Ruff, a Little Egret, a Merlin (adult male), three Wheatear, a Blackcap, a Chiffchaff and a Sedge Warbler were at Bunnaclugga in Kerry.
A Blackcap and a Chiffchaff were heard briefly in song at Loughill this evening.
