A 2cy Great Black-backed Gull, Red T03:D, is the first colour-ringed one to be seen in the City (TT). It was ringed as a nestling on Shenick Island, Skerries, Co. Dublin on 29/6/21 and was also seen at Ardglass, Co. Down on 18/10/21.

A Buzzard was at Rathurd (TT).

A female Great Spotted Woodpecker was seen on a peanut feeder near Murroe (Mike Quirke).
A pair of Buzzards was at Dromin (TT).

A Reed Warbler was in song at Westfields(TT).


Saturday 14th May 2022

A pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers were seen carrying food for young near Cappamore for the second successive year (Mike Quirke).
Four Reed Warblers, seven Sedge Warblers and four Blackcaps were at the Coonagh Nature reserve along with two Gadwall, three Tufted Duck and a Great Crested Grebe (TT).

A 2cy Lesser Black-backed Gull, Blue F:A40, was at O’Calllaghan’s Strand. The bird was ringed as chick on Flat Holm Island in the Welsh side of the Bristol Channel June 21st, 2021.

Two Swifts were in Limerick City centre (TT).

Two Reed Warblers were in song at Coonagh this evening (Hubert Servignat).
