Four Buzzards were seen on a re-seeded field near Croagh (Jerome McSweeney).


Monday 15th October 2018

A Jay was seen outside normal range near Ballingarry today (Andrew Holmes). This may be part of an unusual migration movement of the species this autumn as birds have also been recorded at headlands/migration watch points on the west and south coasts in recent days.
Buzzards were seen at number locations inc. three near Ballingarry (Paddy Dunworth),two near Feenagh(AH) and one at Rosbrien(TT)
A dead Barn Owl was found on the N20 north of Croom (AH).

A Long-eared Owl was at the Shannon Fields, Corbally (Blair McClure).


Wednesday 10th October 2018

Sixty Gadwall, 35 Shoveler, ten Mallard, three Wigeon and 15 Tufted Duck were at Coonagh (TT).


Sunday 7th October 2018

A Ruff, 65 Redshank, two Greenshank, five Dunlin, 12 Black-tailed Godwits, nine Golden Plover, 70 Lapwing, 40 Teal and 10 Mallard were at Robertstown (TT).
71 Redshank, 145 Curlew, 20 Teal, four Mallard, two Little Egrets and a Grey Heron were at Loughill (TT).
A Buzzard was at Rosbrien (TT).

A Whooper Swan was at Lough Gur (James McGrath).

Black-Headed Gull Yellow 208P (Geoff Hunt)

Black-headed Gull Yellow 208P was seen at Harvey’s Quay today (Geoff Hunt). This bird was ringed as a chick at Lough Mask, County Mayo eleven years ago and has spent most of its winters on the Shannon in Limerick City.
