Curlew Sandpiper at Seafield, Quilty John N Murphy

The adult summer Bonaparte’s Gull was back briefly at Seafield beach this morning. (Hugh Wright) Also at Seafield were four Curlew Sandpipers, two Little Stint, one Purple Sandpiper, one Whimbrel, 33 Bar-tailed Godwits and on the sea were several Sooty Shearwaters within the Manx Shearwaters feeding north of Mutton Island. There were two Lapland Buntings, seven Wheatear, 19 Golden Plover and 15 Chough at the Fodry. (Jeff Copner)

Juvenile Little Stint at Seafield Barry Howell

An adult summer BONAPARTE’S GULL was at Seafield, Quilty around 9a.m. The bird flew off north over the sea when flushed by dogs. (Ian Jones and Geoff Pearson) This is only the 5th county record of this rare North American gull.
Also at Seafield Quilty were two Arctic Skuas, one immature Hen Harrier flew in off the sea, four Common Scoter, three Little Stints and three Curlew Sandpiper. (John N Murphy et al)

Lapland Bunting at Loop Head John N Murphy

Juvenile Baird’s Sandpiper at Seafield Hugh Wright

One juvenile BAIRD’S SANDPIPER was at Sefield, Quilty this evening (Hugh Wright), along with two Little Stints and four Curlew Sandpipers.
There were 35 Lapland Buntings were at the Fodry, Loop Head this afternoon.(John N. Murphy & Dixie Collins)
Also at Loop Head were one adult male Hen Harrier, two Peregrines, 28 Colden Plover, 16 Snipe, 54 Rock Dove, six Wheatear and a flock of 300 Herring Gulls at Ross Bay. (John N Murphy)
One Lapland Bunting and one adult Mediterranean Gull were at the Rine, Ballyvaughan. (Paul Troake)
A juvenile Ruff was at Blackweir Bridge, Poulnasherry Bay.(John N. Murphy)
A Spotted Redshank and 140 Wigeon were at Moyasta Creek.(John N. Murphy)
Twenty eight Gadwall, eight Little Egret, four Golden Plover, two Water Rail and a Grey Plover were at Shannon Airport Lagoon this morning.(Nuala and Tom Lynch, Bernard Crowley et al)

Five Lapland Bunting were close to the Lighthouse at Loop Head this morning. Three more were at the Fodry along with two male Peregrine. Six Wheatear and eight Chough were also in the area.(Nuala and Tom Lynch)
Two Curlew Sandpiper, over 200 Curlew, eight Bar-tailed Godwit, 19 Little Egret, 32 Greenshank, 76 Redshank,12 Dunlin, three Snipe and 300 plus Hirundine were at Querrin Creek this afternoon. Six more Bar-tailed Godwit were at Kilcredaun.(Nuala and Tom Lynch)
At Moyasta there were 132 Redshank, 24 Greenshank, eight Dunlin and six Snipe.(Nuala and Tom Lynch)

Buff-breasted Sandpiper at Loop Head John N Murphy

One juvenile BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was in the plover fields at Loop Head this afternoon. (John N Murphy)
Also at Loop Head this afternoon were 27 Lapland Bunting, two Snow Buntings, one juvenile Hen Harrier, ten Golden Plover, 22 Wheatears, 20 Rock Doves and 18 Chough.
Two Lapland Bunting, over 300 Meadow Pipit, 120 Skylark, 75 Linnet, 34 Redpoll, 15 Wheatear, four Chough, three Raven two Kestrel and a Golden Plover were on the Headland at Loop Head this morning.(Nuala and Tom Lynch)
At Poulasherry Bay there was one Ruff, one first-winter Mediterranean Gull, 16 Wigeon, eight Shellduck, 60 Teal, 50 Bar-tailed Godwits and 22 Little Egrets. (John N Murphy)
There were eight Chough, six Little Egrets, 18 Bar-tailed Godwits and 18 Greenshank at Querrin Creek. (John N Murphy)
