The Bonaparte’s Gull was seen at Liscannor Harbour along with an adult winter Mediterranean Gull today (Jeff Copner, Brian McCloskey, Cathal Forkan & Tom Tarpey)


Saturday 24th August 2019

One Osprey flew over the Bridges of Ross this morning, (Cian Cardiff et al) while at sea things were still quiet with one Balearic Shearwater,12 Sooty Shearwaters, 18 Storm Petrels, two Arctic Skuas, one Bonxie,five Common Scoter, 33 Sandwich Terns and 36 Whimbrel. (John Dempsey et al)

One juvenile Hen Harrier was in Kilbaha. (John N Murphy et al)

There were three Ruff at Doonbeg. (Cathal Forklan et al)
One Green Sandpiper was at Moyasta. (CF et al)
At the Bridges of Ross things were fairly quiet with 18 Sooty Shearwaters, three Arctic Skuas, one Bonxie, one Grey Phalarope, two Storm Petrels, 42 Whimbrel, three Knot and a Merlin. (John N Murphy et al)

Today at the Bridges of Ross there were 109 Sooty Shearwaters, two Pomarine Skuas, three Arctic Skuas, 12 Bonxies, two Storm Petrels, 22 Whimbrel, four Sandwich Terns, one Peregrine and a Merlin. (Neal Warnock et al)

At Knockbeg Point, Shannon this morning there were 1157 Black-tailed Godwit, three Bar-tailed Godwit, 91 Knot, 88 Dunlin, four Ringed Plover, 43 Redshank and a Peregrine.(Páidí Cullinan)

At the Bridges of Ross today there were seven Sooty Shearwaters, four Storm Petrels, seven Arctic Skuas, five Bonxies, 34 Sandwich Terns, nine Whimbrel and a Peregrine. (Neal Warnock)

At the Bridges of Ross today there was one Fea’s Petrel (09.13-09.19),(John N Murphy, Keith Langdon et al), along with six Cory’s Shearwaters, 71 Great Shearwaters, 274 Sooty Shearwaters, two Pomarine Skuas, six Arctic Skuas, six Bonxies, 38 Storm Petrels, four Arctic Terns, five Sandwich Terns, 14 Whimbrel and a Merlin.
