Dark winged Iceland Gull at O’Callaghan’s Strand ©James Hayes

A Short-eared Owl was found at Dromada in the west Limerick hills this morning(Geoff Hunt et al).
A Chiffchaff was seen at Carrig Aile, Lough Gur this afternoon.
The dark winged Iceland Gull and an adult Ring-billed Gull were seen on the Shannon again today.
37 Whooper Swans were on the Morning Star callows near Athlacca.

The dark 2nd winter Iceland Gull and an adult Ring-billed Gull were on the Shannon at Howley’s Quay in Limerick today.
A number of Jays were seen at Currachase.

A first winter Mediterranean Gull, an adult Ring-billed Gull and the dark second winter Iceland Gull were all seen on the Shannon in Limerick City centre today.

At Kilbaha today there was one juvenile Kumlien’s Gull on rocks near Cloghaun Lough.
Also two 1st-winter Mediterranean Gulls.
Near Loop Head Lighthouse there were six Iceland Gulls (one adult, 2 2nd winters, 3 juveniles).
At Rinevella Bay there were four Iceland Gulls (one adult, one 2nd winter, 2 juveniles).

One adult Ring-billed Gull was on the beach at south end of Lahinch (Richard Bonser, Alan Clewes and Oliver Staines).
There was also five Great Northern Divers and 120 Common Scoter on Liscannor Bay.
At Seafield there were 500 Dunlin, 500 Sanderlings over 100 Purple Sandpipers and 15 Bar-tailed Godwits.
On nearby Mutton Island a flock of over 150 Barnacle Geese were seen.

Two adult Ring-billed Gulls were at Westfields.

A Little Egret was seen near the Groody River at Killonan, Ballysimon.
