Three Hawfinches were at Curraghchase (Mike Flanagan, Graham Mitchell, Tom Tarpey and Maura Turner).
News came through today of a photograph taken on Nov. 17th last in Curraghchase showing a Hawfinch (see below), so it looks like the birds have been around for a few months at least.
Five Greylag Geese, 140 Teal and three Mute Swans were at Knockaderry.
131 Pochard, 55 Tufted Duck, 97 Wigeon, 26 Teal, nine Mallard, a Gadwall, three Whooper Swans, a Little Egret and 100 Greylag Geese(flyover) were at Coonagh.
35 Mallard, 18 Shoveler, 13 Teal, 22 Pochard and 26 Tufted Duck were at Westfields.

The drake Ring-necked Duck was at Ro Lough on the Clare/Galway border again today (John N Murphy). Two Spotted Redshanks and a Little Egret were at Coronroo Bay. Two Black-throated Divers were at Ballyvaughan. There was no sign of the Black Brant at New Quay. An adult Forster’s Tern was at Kinvarra, County Galway (John N Murphy).

Up to four Hawfinches were seen at Curraghchase Forest Parktoday (Geoff Hunt, Mike Flanagan, Tom Tarpey). Five Jays and four Red Squirrels were also seen in the Park.
Seven Greylag Geese were seen in a flooded field at Knockaderry.

The Black Brant Goose was still at New Quay today (Dave McNamara). One drake Ring-necked Duck was at Roo Lough on the Clare/Galway border (Dave McNamara).

Two Hawfinches were seen at Currachase today (James Hayes).
16 Whooper Swans were at Herbertstown.
Male and female Blackcaps were reported from seperate gardens in Monaleen and another male bird was reported from Annacotty.

There was a Black Brant goose at New Quay today (Paul Troake), a first for the county and long overdue. Within the same flock of Pale-belleid Brent Geese there was a dark bellied bird. One 2nd year Mediterranian Gull was at Corronroo Bay. A flock of 40 Whooper Swans were at Tarmon Turlough. There were 22 Greylag Geese at Ballycar Lough.
