One female Marsh Harrier flew over the motorway heading east near Latoon Bridge, below Dromoland at the Inn (John N Murphy).  An adult Glaucous Gull and one second-winter Iceland Gull were at Liscannor.

A second winter Iceland Gull, a first winter Glaucous Gull and two Ring-billed Gulls, (adult and first winter) were seen on the Shannon in Limerick City today.
A flock of 95 Whooper Swans, containing just five juveniles, was at Cooperhill today.

The pale first winter Buzzard was seen in the fields west of Adare today.
A Long-eared Owl was seen at Monaleen this evening.
360 Wigeon, 240 Teal, 76 Mallard, 38 Wigeon, 80 Golden Plover, 50 Snipe and 45 Lapwing were at the Charleville Lagoons.

Fifty five Whooper Swan were between Lake Atedaun and Toole’s Lough. Thirty four more were at the Drumcliffe end of Ballyallia Lake. Three Jay were at Dromore Wood.

A Chiffchaff was seen on the eastern side of the King’s Island embankment pathway in Limerick City.
A first winter Hen Harrier was seen near Abbeyfeale.

Monday 3rd February 2014

One Little Gull was at Clahane, Liscannor.  A male Blackcap was at Oak Park Ennis.  Five Little Egrets were in a field near the Bog Road, Doora this morning. A Common Sandpiper was at the Flaggy Shore.

Sunday 2nd February 2014

The female Marsh Harrier, two Hen Harriers, a Merlin and nine Whooper swans were near Tubber today.  There were two Black-throated Divers, eight Red-throated Divers and 50 Great Northerns off Ballyvaughan.  One darke Greater Scaup and 22 Gadwall were at Lough Gash, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
