At the Bridges of Ross today were; 350 Sooty Shearwaters, six Storm Petrels, two Leach’s Petrels, 45 Bonxies, 30 Arctic Skuas, six Pomarine Skuas, one Long-tailed Skua,two Grey Phalaropes, two Sabine’s Gulls, two Common Scoter, 27 Sandwich Terns, five Arctic Terns and six Whimbrel.(Kieran Grace, John N Murphy et al)
Two juvenile Ruff were at Ballyallia Lake with 69 Collared Doves on the south shore of the lake.(Paidi Cullinan)

The Bonaparte’s Gull was seen at Liscannor Harbour along with an adult winter Mediterranean Gull today (Jeff Copner, Brian McCloskey, Cathal Forkan & Tom Tarpey)


Saturday 24th August 2019

One Osprey flew over the Bridges of Ross this morning, (Cian Cardiff et al) while at sea things were still quiet with one Balearic Shearwater,12 Sooty Shearwaters, 18 Storm Petrels, two Arctic Skuas, one Bonxie,five Common Scoter, 33 Sandwich Terns and 36 Whimbrel. (John Dempsey et al)

At Knockbeg Point, Shannon this morning there were 1157 Black-tailed Godwit, three Bar-tailed Godwit, 91 Knot, 88 Dunlin, four Ringed Plover, 43 Redshank and a Peregrine.(Páidí Cullinan)
