Juvenile White-tailed Eagle Yellow/Green H was seen at Ballydonoghoe, Tarbert Bay (TT). Adult winter and first winter Mediterranean Gulls were also seen in the Bay.
A Kingfisher was at Askeaton Quay (TT).

An Arctic Skua(dark-phased) was at the Rine, Ballyvaughan.(Jeff Copner)

Two juvenile White-tailed Eagles, tagged G and J resp., were seen at Ballydonoghoe on the Limerick side of Tarbert Bay(Geoff Hunt). They are two of the four imported Norwegian juveniles released in the area last week. All have yellow tags on the right wing and green tags on the left wing, similar to the birds released on Lough Derg earlier in the month.

2nd winter Little Gull Tom Tarpey

Three Wilson’s Petrels, 20 Leaches Petrels, 200 Storm Petrels, two juvenile Long-tailed Skuas, 30 Arctic Skuas, 20 Bonxies, three Great Shearwaters, one Balearic Shearwater, eight Sabine’s Gull, 70 Arctic Terns and three Common Scoters were seen at the Bridges of Ross today (Noel Keogh, Brian McCloskey, Victor Cashera, Jim Dowdall, Tom Tarpey, Mark Stewart et al.)
A 2nd winter Little Gull was at Rhinevilla beach (TT.
Two Sanderling were at the Cloughaun Lough outflow (TT).
A Ruff was at Kilcredaun marsh (Barry Howell).


Monday 24th August 2020

A Polish ringed juvenile Black-headed Gull (Blue T78H) was at Honan’s Quay (TT). The bird was ringed as a chick at small lake near Poznan in Wielkopolskie province in western Poland on June 4th last.

48 Gadwall, six Shoveler, three Wigeon, two Teal, four Pochard, five Tufted Duck and a Black-tailed Godwits were at Coonagh (TT).

At the Bridges of Ross tis morning were one Cory’s Shearwater, one Black Tern and 100’s of Sooty Shearwaters. (Andrew McMillan)


Thursday 19th August 2020

A six hour seawatch at the Bridges of Ross today produced 5,000 Manx Shearwaters (ph), 32 Sooty Shearwaters, three Bonxies, two Arctic Skuas and five Pomarine Skuas. (Paul Lynch)

Two Whimbrel, two Curlew, 112 Ringed Plover, eleven Dunlin, two Sanderling and 30 Oystercatchers were at Seafields this evening. (Tom Tarpey).
