Two small type Canada Geese, possible Cackling Geese, were seen with a Whooper Swan flock near Clarina (Gerry Murphy).
Three Buzzards and a Blackcap were at Crecora (Derek Casey).

An 1st winter Iceland Gull was at Harvey’s Quay (TT).


Friday 26th February 2021

An immature Marsh Harrier and a pair of Scaup were at Coonagh (TT).
Three Buzzards were at Ballinacurra (Fergus Flood) and another was at Ballysimon (TT).

Single Buzzards were at Mountrice, Kilmore and Crag, Sixmilebridge (Tom Tarpey)
One Buzzard was near Dromoland. (Julian Cremins)
One very pale Buzzard was at Tullabrack. (John N Murphy)

Marsh Harrier Tom Tarpey

A Great Spotted Woodpecker was heard drumming at Portnard, Cappamore. Two Buzzards were also in the area. (Gearoid Jackson).
Am immature Marsh Harrier and a Buzzard were at Coonagh (TT).
Two Blackcaps were at Monaleen (TT) and another two were at Crecora (Derek Casey).
A Buzzard was at Ballysimon (DC).

A female Great-spotted Woodpecker was drumming at Parteen(Maura Turner)
Two Buzzard were at Ardnacrusha(MT)


Tuesday 16th February 2021

Two 1st winter Iceland Gulls were on the Shannon in Limerick City (TT).
Four Buzzards were at Fort East, north of Charleville (John N Murphy).
A Norwegian ringed Common Gull, White JH584, was at Thomond Weir. The bird was ringed on 7/10/2018, in its 1st year, in the province of Rogaland in the southwest of the country and was still in Norway on 4/4/2019 (TT).

A White-tailed Eagle was at Ballyallia. Yellow F tag on right wing. Green tag on left wing.(Jeff Copner) One of six birds released at Lough Derg last August.
