Common Sandpiper at Clarecastle Quay Barry Howell

In the gardens at Kilbaha today there was one Siberian Chiffchaff, three Common Chiffchaff, three Goldcrests and two Sparrowhawks. (John N Murphy)
One Merlin was near the Lighthouse at Loop Head. (James Organ)
One Common Sandpiper was at Clarecastle Quay and a Barnacle Goose was within the flock of Greylags at Ballyallia Lake. (Barry Howell)
There were 92 Snipe and 130 Lapwing at Doonbeg Bay.(JNM)
One immature female Hen Harrier was at Cloghan Beg, near Lough Donnell. (JNM)

Drake Gadwall at Willow Park, Ennis Barry Howell

There was a noticable arrival of Gadwall throughout many lakes in the county today.

There was one juvenile Curlew Sandpiper within a mixed flock of 70 Dunlin, 340 Sanderling, 310 Ringed Plover and 90 Turnstone at Seafield Beach, with 12 Great Northern Divers off shore and a Merlin hunting the area. (John N Murphy)

Some sightings from RV Celtic Explorer 2 miles offshore between the Burren and Inis Oirr there was a Leach’s Storm-petrel, with 36 Sooty Shearwaters, two Great Skuas and one European Storm-petrel four miles west of Hags Head. (Niall T. Keogh & John Collins)

Glossy Ibis ®Gerry Murphy

A Glossy Ibis was seen at Cooperhill, Mungret (Gerry Murphy). The bird was also seen in the area by a local farmer on Saturday. This is the third record for the County, the previous ones being at Coonagh in Spring 2014 and King’s Island Marsh in April 2016.
