In a 3 hour sea watch at Ross, Loop Head today there was one Wilson’s Storm Petrel, one Sooty Shearwater, one Arctic Skua, seven European Storm Petrels, 14,000 Manx Shearwaters, two Puffin and two Curlew all flying west.(John N Murphy)

One Cory’s Shearwater along with 1500 Manx Shearwater and a Storm Petrel were flying west at the Kilkee Cliffs this morning.(Geoff Pearson)

A Great White Egret was reported flying upstream on the Allaughaun River at Ballaghbehy near Abbeyfeale (per Irishbirding-Kevin Lavery)

Long-eared Owl chicks were calling in Castletroy Golf Club (TT).
Five Cuckoos were calling around Carrigkerry. A Buzzard was also seen in the area (TT).

A White-tailed Eagle was seen at Mount Trenchard (Luke Costello).


Saturday 10th June 2023

Two family parties of Chough, a pair of Ringed Plover with two chicks along with a host of nesting Common Guillemot, Razorbill, Kittiwake, Fulmar, Shag, Herring Gull and Great Black-backed Gull were seen during a well attended Clare/Limerick BWI outing to Loop Head.(Sean Whelan, Nuala and Tom Lynch, Clodagh Glasgow, Gearóid Jackson et al)
