A Barolo Shearwater flew south-west past the Bridges of Ross at 17.00.(Keith Langdon, Des Higgins et al)

From 06.30-18.45 at the Bridges of Ross there were 6585 Great Shearwater, (6000 of those during the first three hours), 1870 Cory’s Shearwater, (including two that looked like Scopoli’s but not photographed, Chris Cullen & Niall T. Keogh), 98 Sooty Shearwater, 9000 Manx Shearwater, 68 Leach’s Petrel, 60 Storm Petrel, one blue Fulmar, 16 Long-tailed Skua, (8 adult, 1 subadult, 7 juvenile), 22 Pomarine Skua, 23 Arctic Skua, 64 Sabine’s Gull, (38 adult, 26 juveniles), one cy Little Gull, 365 Arctic Tern, 80 Sandwich Tern, one Black Tern, six Grey Phalarope, eight Puffin, 120 Light-bellied Brent Goose and four Common Scoter.(KL, DH, CC, NTK, and 14 more observers)

At the Bridges of Ross between 06.30-08.30 there were over 4870 Great Shearwater and 720 Cory’s Shearwater.(Niall Keogh, Des Higgins et al)

A large Skua(possible immature South Polar Skua) was reported  at the Bridges of Ross at 14.05. Flying west. Footage obtained for review. (Andrew Parisi)

Also at the Bridges of Ross between 07.20-12.20/14.40-19.00 there were 1165 Cory’s Shearwater, one Scopoli’s Shearwater(Keith Langdon@17.52), 680 Great Shearwater, 85 Sooty Shearwater, over 12500 Manx Shearwater, seven Leach’s Petrel, one Wilson’s Petrel, 100 Storm Petrel, 21 Arctic Skua, five Pomarine Skua, seven Great Skua, one adult Long-tailed Skua, 32 Sabine’s Gull(30 adult and two juvenile), seven Grey Phalarope, over 275 Arctic Tern, 33 Sandwich Tern and one Red-throated Diver.(Niall Keogh plus 16 observers)

A Curlew Sandpiper was at Rinvella Beach along with one Arctic Tern, three Sandwich Tern and 70 Ringed Plover.(Chris Cullen)

A Fea’s type Petrel flew west past the Bridges of Ross at 11.40.(Brian McCloskey et al)

Between 06.30-11.15 at the Bridges of Ross there were 660 Great Shearwater, 124 Cory’s Shearwater, 282 Sooty Shearwater, three Balearic Shearwater, 7170 Manx Shearwater, one Wilson’s Petrel, 14 Storm Petrel, 13 Sabine’s Gull, three Grey Phalarope, six Great Skua, four Pomarine Skua, nine Arctic Skua and ten Long-tailed Skua, including one juvenile.(Keith Langdon, Des Higgins et al)

The seawatch at the Bridges of Ross today produced a Fea’s or Zino Petrel at 17.40(Keith Langdon), three Scopoli’s Shearwater at 11.30, 11.50, 16.33,(BMcC, AGK, SM), one Wilson’s Petrel, 15 Sabine’s Gull, 22 Long-tailed Skua, three Leach’s Petrel, 29 Storm Petrel, 527 Great Shearwater, 1045 Cory’s Shearwater, 740 Sooty Shearwater, two Balearic Shearwater, 23 Arctic Skua, seven Great Skua, seven Pomarine Skua and five Grey Phalarope. (BMcC, VC, AGK, NK, SM, KL, JA, DH, CMcN, AMcM, MB, JFD, MS, DM et al)

A Scopoli’s Shearwater was off Ross Ringing Station at 11.00.(JNM)

Also at Ross Ringing Station between 10.00-13.00 there were 532 Cory’s Shearwater, 210 Great Shearwater, over 450 Sooty Shearwater, five adult Sabine’s Gull, two Long-tailed Skua,(2CY +adult) four Pomarine Skua, nine Arctic Skua, one Great Skua, four Common Scoter, five Storm Petrel, 30 Arctic Tern, 15 Sandwich Tern and four Whimbrel.(John N Murphy)

At Black Head from 09.15-12.10 there were nine Sooty Shearwater, one Balearic Shearwater, eight Storm Petrel, four Common Scoter, one Great Skua, one Pomarine Skua and five Arctic Skua.(Paul Troake)
