A female type Goosander and a Greenshank were on the Shannon at Corbally (TT).

A male and female Velvet Scoter. 230 Common Scoter, a Long-tailed Duck and 17 Red-throated Diver were at Lahinch Bay.(Jeff Copner)

There was one Common Sandpiper and two Buzzards at Foynes today. (John N Murphy)
Another Buzzard was at Loghill. (JNM)
A Blackcap was at Crecora (Fergus Flood).

A female Long-tailed Duck was at Bunlicky (Gerry Murphy).
Black-headed Gull Yellow 286B was at Clancy’s Strand. It was ringed as chick in June 2008 at Aghinish, Lough Mask, Co. Mayo and was last seen in Limerick on 28/12/18. It is now the oldest know survivor from the Lough Mask colour ringing project (2006-2009) wintering in Limerick at 14.5 years old, eclipsing Yellow 208P who was 14.25 years old when last seen on 10/9/21.


Saturday 10th December 2022

Two Common Sandpiper, a Buzzard, a female Blackcap and 34 Whooper Swan were seen during the course of the Clare Branch outing to Ballyallia and Drumcliffe. Visibility was limited due to heavy fog.(Nuala and Tom Lynch, Sean Whelan, Stan Nugent, James Organ, Dixie Collins et al)
