Saturday 31st October 2009
A Yellow-browed Warbler was seen at Kilbaha earlier today, alongside five Chiffchaffs.
and two Bullfinches.
Five male and three female Yellowhammers were seen close to Mullaghmore.
One Little Egret was at Doonbeg.
Two Little Egrets and a Whooper Swan were at Kilcredaun.
There were 727 Wigeon, three Gadwall and ten Whooper Swans at Lough Murree,  New Quay.
At the Shannon Airport Lagoon there were three Little Egrets, 18 Gadwall, 28 Shoveler and 
320 Black-tailed Godwits.

Friday 30th October 2009
Two Black-throated Divers and 16 Great Northern Divers were off Aughinish Island.
Four Black-throated Divers were at Finvarra Point.
A Ring-billed Gull,  two second-winter Mediterranean Gulls and 33 Great Northern Divers
were at the Flaggy Shore.
One first-winter Velvet Scoter and ten Great Northern Divers were at Bishops Quarter.
There were twenty three Great Northern Diver seen between Aughinish and the Flaggy Shore.
Two Woodcock were at Clifden Hill, Corofin.
Ten Whooper Swan were on Lough Murree.

Thursday 29th October 2009
A juvenile American Golden Plover was at Kilcredaun Marsh this evening (John N Murphy)
within a flock of 80 Golden Plovers and alongside one Whooper Swan and one Whimbrel. 
At Kilcredaun Lighthouse there was one female Wheatear.
There were four Chiffchaff, one Willow Warbler, one Swallow and 56 Rock Doves
at Kilbaha, Loop Head.
One Black-throated Diver was off the Flaggy Shore, with 10 Whooper Swans, one
Pintail and one Gadwall at Lough Murree.

Wednesday 28th October 2009
At the Shannon Airport Lagoon this afternoon there were six Little Egrets, five 
Whooper Swans, 24 Gadwall, 3,000 Golden Plover, 22 Grey Plover, 400 Knot,
600 Redshank and four Water Rails.
There were two Water Rails at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
A family party of five Whooper Swan were at Ballymacguiggan Lake this evening

Tuesday 27th October 2009
Five Snow Buntings were at George's Head, Kilkee.
Seven Whooper Swans were seen flying over Killard Bay, Doonbeg this morning. 

Monday 26th October 2009
One Kingfisher was at Lough Atedaun.
There were 57 Black-tailed Godwits and 16 Gadwall at Lough Inchiquin.
Large numbers of Redwing were observed throughout the county today.

Sunday 25th October 2009
The immature Garganey and 14 Gadwall were at the Shannon Airport Lagoon this late 
this evening and one Merlin was seen chasing 4,000 Starlings going to roost.
At the Bridges of Ross this morning there was one Sabine's Gull, three Arctic Skuas,
one Bonxie, one Sooty Shearwater, one Storm Petrel and thousands of Kittiwakes.
On Loop Head there were six Chiffchaffs.
One second-winter Mediterranean Gull was at Cloghaun Lough.
A flock of 75 Sanderling were at Seafield with three birds wearing colour band combinations.
Also at Seafield were three Purple Sandpipers.
A flock of 300 Golden Plovers, 170 Lapwing and one Little Egret were at Doonbeg.
Two Peregrines were at Farrihy Lake.
One Whooper Swan was at Kilcredaun Marsh while another seven Whoopers were at Lough Atedaun.
There were 13 Gadwall at Lough Inchiquin.
There were six Greenland White-fronted Geese at Tullagher Bog.

Saturday 24th October 2009
The immature Garganey was still at the Shannon Airport Lagoon this afternoon
along with 12 Little Egrets, 470 Teal, 30 Shoveler, 12 Gadwall, 70 Wigeon,
60 Lapwing, 200 Black-tailed Godwit, 300 Golden Plover 200 Knot and 200 Dunlin.
The adult Little Gull was still in the  fllooded field outside Quin.
There were 13 Gadwall and two Pochard at Ballyallia Lake, Ennis.

Friday 23rd October 2009
One adult-winter Little Gull was in a wet flooded field just outside Quin village.
One Willow Warbler and three Siskins were at Loop Head.
A large number of Redwings were noted moving through the county today.

Thursday 22nd October 2009
One Blackcap, three Chiffchaffs and two Bullfinches were at Loop Head.
One Swallow was at Applewood, Ballycar Newmarket-on-Fergus along with
ten Greylag Geese.

Wednesday 21st October 2009
The BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT was showing well at Clahane this afternoon (Dave McNamara).
A flock of 34 Greylag Geese flew over Applewood, Ballycar heading to Ballycar
Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
A Swallow was seen over Ennis..

Tuesday 20th October 2009
At Kilbaha, Loop Head today there was one Pied Flycatcher, one Reed Warbler,
a male and female Blackcap, one Willow Warbler, nine Chiffchaffs, one second-winter
Iceland Gull and one Merlin.
One Green Sandpiper and two Little Egrets were at Moyasta.
One juvenile Curlew Sandpiper and a Little Egret were at Doonbeg.

Monday 19th October 2009
The BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT was at Clahane this evening (Dave McNamara),
along with one Merlin and two White Wagtails.
One first winter Glaucous Gull and a Merlin were at Kilbaha.
One Whooper  Swan was at Kilcredaun Marsh, Rineville.

Sunday 18th October 2009
The BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT was at Clahane (Dave McNamara).
Also at Clahane were one White Wagtail and a Merlin.
There was no sign of the Little Bunting at Loop Head today but two Yellow-browed
Warblers were still present along with the first-winter Pied Flycatcher, one male Blackcap,
one Jack Snipe, the juvenile Brent Goose and four Chiffchaffs.
One Wheatear and 16 Great Northern Divers were at the Flaggy Shore.
There were 13 Little Egrets at Finvarra.
A flock of 17 Gadwall were at Lough Inchiquin, Corofin.
Five Greylag Geese were at Fenloe Lake (Fin Lough), Newmarket-on-Fergus. 

Saturday 17th October 2009
A LITTLE BUNTING was seen just up from Kilbaha Cottage, Loop Head (John N Murphy, Nuala and Tom Lynch, Dave McNamara).
Also at Kilbaha were  two Yellow-browed Warblers, a first-winter male Pied Flycatcher, a Garden Warbler, six Chiffchaffs, one Swallow, 30 Reed Buntings, ten Lesser Redpoll, seven Choughs, seven Ravens,  ten Snipe, one Peregrine, 20 Redwings and five Fieldfares.
At Loop Head Lighthose a Storm Petrel was rescued and returned to sea. A dead Blackcap
was found there also.
A Brent Goose was in Kilbaha Harbour.
One Barn Owl was at Dysert this evening.

The BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT was at Clahane (Dave McNamara).
One Pied Flycatcher was in Gibson's Garden Loop Head.
One second-winter Ring-billed Gull was at Quilty Beach.
One first-winter Glaucous Gull was in Kilbaha Harbour.
Two male Hen Harriers and two Jack Snipe were at Tullagher Bog.
One Ruff was at Willow Park, Ennis.

A Yellow-browed Warbler was seen at Kilbaha earlier today. (John N Murphy,  Brian Finnegan
& Dave McNamara).
Also at Loop Head were four Garden Warblers, one Common Buzzard, one Brambling, 16 Chiffchaffs,
16 Chough, six Tree Sparrows, 10 Redpolls, one Jack Snipe and five Redwings.
Two Green Sandpipers and a Little Egret were at Moyasta.
Two males and one female Hen Harriers were near Doonbeg.
One Whooper Swan was at Ing, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Tuesday 13th October 2009
The BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT was at Clahane this morning (Dave McAdams).
At the Shannon Airport Lagoon the Garganey was still present along with 
35 Little Egrets, 80 Shoveler, 320 Teal, three Water Rails, 200 Black-tailed
Godwits, 3,000 Golden Plover and eight Gadwall.
Three Black-throated Divers were at Aughinish Island along with 85 Black
Guillemots, 55 Red-breasted Mergansers, five Great Northern Divers
and two Red-throated Divers.
One Ruff was at the Claureen River Attenuation Pond in Ennis.
Two Greylag Geese and nine Redwing were at Applewood, Ballycar,
Newmarket-on-Fergus.
One Arctic Tern was at Seafield, Quilty.

Monday 12th October 2009
The BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT re-appeared at Clahane today (Dave McNamara).
A second-winter Ring-billed Gull was still at Spanish Point.
Two Black-throated Divers , four Little Egrets and 50 Black Guillemots were off Aughinish.
Also at Aughinish Point were one Snow Bunting and three Swallows.
One Green Sandpiper, a Kingfisher and 14 Black-tailed Godwits were at the Claureen River
Attenuation Pond in Ennis.
One Whooper Swan was at Lough Atedaun, Corofin.

Sunday 11th October 2009
An immature Garganey was at the Shannon Airport Lagoon this afternoon along with
280 Teal, 65 Shoveler, 20 Little Egrets, two Curlew Sandpipers, one Spotted Redshank, 
1,000 Redshank, 270 Knot, 190 Dunlin, 4,000 Golden Plover, five Grey Plover, 600 Black-tailed 
Godwits, two Water Rail and one female Hen Harrier.
There were 10 Chiffchaff at Loop Head, with one second-winter Iceland Gull at Pilot Hill,
one Fieldfare in a garden near the bog road and five Jack Snipes in the pond at Kilbaha.
Five Swallows were at Cross Village.

Saturday 10th October 2009
A male Redstart was found on the outskirts of Kilbaha Village.
One adult Ring-billed Gull and a second-winter Mediterranean Gull were at Bell Harbour.
One adult Mediterranean Gull and a Little Egret were at Corronroo Bay.
One Green Sandpiper was at Moyasta, along with one Water Rail and two Little Egrets.
A Ruff and 38 Black-tailed Godwits were at the Claureen River Attenuation pond in Ennis.
One Jack Snipe was at Cloughan Lough Loop Head, along with two Snow Buntings.
At Loop Head there was one female Blackcap, two Wheatears, six Chiffchaffs, two Merlins
one Peregrine, 10 Chough and five Ravens.
A Whooper Swan was at Lough Murree, the first this autumn.
One Wheatear and a Little Egret were at Bishop's Quarter, Ballyvaughan.
One Jay was near Manusmore, Clarecastle.
There were 33 Gadwall at Lough Inchiquin.
One Merlin and three Raven were at Clahane.

Friday 9th October 2009
The second-winter Ring-billed Gull was at Spanish Point along with a Merlin.
One Wheatear was at Clahane, Liscannor.

Thursday 8th October 2009
The second-winter Ring-billed Gull was still at Spanish Point.
There were two Black-throated Divers off Aughinish.
One Arctic Skua, 14 Great Norther Divers and 150 Black Guillemots were off the Flaggy Shore.
Four Little Egrets were at Finvarra Point.
There were 30 Red-throated Divers, five Great Northern Divers and 12 Common Scoter at Liscannor.
Two Jays were at Darragh.
A Jay was seen at Lees Road Wood this evening.

Wednesday 7th October 2009
The BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT was once again seen at Clahane (Dave McNamara).
One second-winter Ring-billed Gull was in approach fields to Kilbaha with other  large gulls.
At Loop Head there was two Snow Buntings, one male and three female Blackcaps, 10 Chiffchaffs,
three Wheatears, two Merlin, one first-winter Little Gull, one second-winter Iceland Gull,
one Jack Snipe, one Redwing, one Red-throated Diver, three Great Northern Divers
and 44 Reed Buntings.
One Redwing was seen near Rineen National School, Moy, Lahinch.
A flock of 36 Great Northern Divers were at Liscannor Bay.
There were 19 Gadwall and 35 Black-tailed Godwits at Lough Atedaun.
A flock of 150 Golden Plover were in fields on the south side of Kilkee Bay.
There were two Swallows near Kilrush.

The BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT was showing well in Clahane this afternoon. (Finbarr MacGabhann)
At Loop Head today there was one male and one female Blackcap, one Redwing, one Willow 
Warbler and 17 Ravens.
One Common Sandpiper was at Cloghaun Lough.
One Curlew Sadnpiper was at Rinville Beach, Carrigaholt.
One Little Egret and one Raven were at Kilcredaun.
There were 21 Gadwall at Lough Inchiquin.
One Ruff and 43 Black-tailed Godwits were on the Fergus River near Willow Park, Ennis. 
Two Water Rail and two Raven were seen at Ballyallia Lake this morning.

The BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT was showing well all day at Clahane beach (Neal Warnock, Jane 
and Ger Griffin et al).
A Buzzard was at Killard Bay, Doonbeg, alongside one Tree Sparrow, one Wilow Warbler, 
one Peregrine and 11 Chough.
One second-winter Iceland Gull was at Doonbeg.
One Snow Bunting, one female Blackcap, one Willow Warbler, seven Chiffchaffs, three Swallows, 
two Wheatears, and two Merlin were at Loop Head.
One Curlew Sandpiper was at Rineville beach, Carrigaholt.
One male Hen Harrier was Lough Muckanagh, the Burren.
A Raven was at Ballyallia Wood and another at Islandavanna where 307 Redshank were also present.

Saturday 3rd October 2009
The BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT was at Clahane today (Barry Howell).
Today at the Bridges of Ross there were, five Sabine's Gulls, 11 Leach's Petrels, eight Storm Petrels,
208  Sooty Shearwaters, 100 Manx Shearwaters, two Pomarine Skuas, nine Arctic Skuas, 15 Bonxies,
five blue phased Fulmars, five Puffins, 51 Brent Geese, three Common Scoters, 29 Arctic Terns , one
Wigeon and one Peregrine Falcon.
A Common Sandpiper was at Kilbaha Harbour.
At Kilbaha village there was one female Blackcap, three Chiffchaff, a female Hen Harrier and one Peregrine.
At the Fodry a Raven, six Chough, fifty Golden Plover and a male and female Merlin were seen.
Also at Loop Head there were two Wheatears and one second-winter Mediterranean Gull was at Ross Bay. 
One Peregrine was at Lough Donnell with another at Tullagher and possibly the same bird at Killard Bay.
One Snow Bunting was at Killard.
There was a Whimbrel and 50 Brent Geese at Seafield.
There were seven Little Egrets at Moyasta.

Friday 2nd October 2009
The BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT was at Clahane again this morning (Eamon McLochlainn, John N Murphy
Brian Finnegan, Tom Chadwick).
One Long-tailed Skua, two Leach's Petrels, 22 Sooty Shearwaters and a Peregrine were at the
Bridges of Ross.
Also at Clahane was one Common Sandpiper.
One Common Sandpiper and a Kingfisher were at Clarecastle Quay.
Two Brent Geese flew over the blue pools at Kilkee.
Two Little Egrets were at Blackweir Bridge, Poulnasherry.
Two Little Egrets were at Querrin.
Eleven Gadwall and twelve Black-tailed Godwit were seen at Ballyallia Lake.
There were 11 Barnacle Geese at Doonbeg Bay.

There was a BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT at Clahane this afternoon (Dave McNamara & Jeff Copner).
This is the second county record found in the exact location where the first one 
turned up on 7th October 2007 and found by the same observer, well done Dave.
One Green Sandpiper, one Jack Snipe and 25 Black-tailed Godwits were at
the Claureen River atenuation Pond in Ennis.
One Long-eared Owl was at Clifden Hill, Corofin.
A Merlin and two Ravens were at Doonagore Bog.
A flock of 50 Little Grebes and 26 Tufted Ducks were at Lough Gash, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
One Merlin and one Peregrine were at Lough Donnell.

Wednesday 30th September 2009
A Long-billed Dowitcher was at Rineville Beach near Kilcredaun this morning (Liz Clinton).
A male Redstart was at Kilbaha, Loop Head along with two Chiffchaff, 28 Skylark, 
250 Meadow Pipits, 30 Redpoll and ten Chough.
One Ruff was at Applewood, Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
One Kingfisher and one White Wagtail were at Lough Donnell.
There were 95 Little Grebe, 12 Gadwall and 35 Black-tailed Godwits at Lough Inchiquin.
Nine Ravens were at Gort Coirce, Corofin.

One Sabine's Gull was at the Bridges of Ross.
At the Shannon Airport Lagoon today there was one Curlew Sandpiper, 28 Little Egrets, over 300
Golden Plover, 2,000 Black-tailed Godwit, 30 Knot, 20 Wigeon and three Water Rails.

Monday 28th September 2009
There were four Curlew Sandpipers, 32 Little Egrets, 326 Golden Plover, 2,000 Black-tailed
Godwit, 38 Knot, 110 Dunlin, 25 Wigeon and one Water Rail at the Shannon Airport Lagoon.
One Long-eared Owl was Rath, Corofin.
One Kingfisher, one Water Rail, one Jay, ten Gadwall, three Pochard and 150 Swallows were
at Lough Atedaun, Corofin.
Two Little Egrets and six Whimbrel were at Querrin.
Three Water Rails were at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Sunday 27th September 2009
A Snow Bunting was seen at George's Head Kilkee.
A flock of 60 Mistle Thrushes were at Applewood, Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Saturday 26th September 2009
At Loop Head today there were two Lapland Buntings, one juvenile Long-tailed Skua
was in Kilbaha Bay along with one first-winter Little Gull and one first-winter
Mediterranean Gull. Also at Loop Head were three Merlins, five Raven and seven Chough.
At Cloghaun Lough there was one Water Rail.
One juvenile Curlew Sandpiper and a Whimbrel were at Rinville Beach outside Carrigaholt.
Two Green Sandpipers were at Moyasta.
One second year Mediterranean Gull, 12 Little Egrets, 240 Wigeon,  14 Bar-tailed Godwits,
30 Knot and 28 Greenshank were at Poulnasherry Bay.
A Snow Bunting was at George's Head Kilkee. One Little Egret was at Doonbeg.

Friday 25th September 2009
Three Sabine's Gull were seen at Aughinish near New Quay, along with
two hundred Cormorant.
A little further north thirty Little Egret were reported.

Wednesday 23rd September 2009
At the Bridges of Ross  two Leach's Petrel, four Arctic Skua, twenty five Great Skua, 
six Pomarine Skua and a hundred Sooty Shearwater were seen.

Tuesday 22nd September 2009
At the Bridges of Ross there were two Leach's Petrels, one Balearic Shearwater,
one Sooty Shearwater, five Pomarine Skuas, four Arctic Skuas, 40 Bonxies and
four Puffins.
One Snow Bunting was at Kilbaha.
A Raven was seen in Lees Road Wood this evening.

Monday 21st September 2009
One Snow Bunting and a Peregrine were at the Bridges of Ross.
One juvenile Hen Harrier and two Willow Warblers were seen at Kilbaha.
A Common Sandpiper was at Cloghaun Lough Loop Head.
A ring-tailed Hen Harrier was reported from Lough Donnell.

Sunday 20th September 2009
There were 60 Whimbrel and a Peregrine at Lough Donnell.
A Peregrine and two Wheatear were also seen at Quilty.

Saturday 19th September 2009
One Whinchat was one the road between Kilbaha and Loop Head Lighthouse.
There were 17 Little Egret and 150 Black-tailed Godwits at the Shannon
Airport Lagoon. A Wheatear was also in the same area.
Three White Wagtail and a Peregrine were reported from Seafield Quilty.
One Lapland Bunting and one Jack Snipe were at Loop Head.
One Common Sandpiper and a juvenile Hen Harrier were at Cloghaun Lough Loop Head.

Two Lapland Bunting were reported near the Lighthouse at Loop Head earlier today.
One Curlew Sandpiper and one juvenile Little Stint were at Liscannor.
A Raven was seen at New Road Ennis this morning.
One Green Sandpiper and a Little Egret were at Lahinch Marsh.
A Little Egret was seen at Lough Donnell.
A Kingfisher,a Peregrine and a hundred Snipe were at Doonbeg.

A dark phased Arctic Skua was seen being mobbed by gulls on the beach by 
Liscannor Pier this afternoon.
There was also one Little Stint on the beach at Liscannor.

Three Buzzard and a juvenile Hen Harrier were at the Fodry Loop Head.
A Peregrine was seen at Lough Donnell.
One juvenile Ruff was reported from Doonbeg.
At Lough Atedaun a Common Sandpiper was spotted.

A Peregrine was noted at Seafield.

One Arctic Skua was seen chasing terns and Kittiwakes at Seafield, Quilty.
A Kingfisher was seen at Ballyallia Lake close to the River Fergus outflow this evening.

One dark phased Arctic Skua was at Seafield.

A juvenile Long-billed Dowitcher was at the Skivileen River, Doonbeg this afternoon (John N Murphy

The juvenile Sabine's Gull was still on the beach at Quilty along with
a second year Ring-billed Gull.
One Arctic Skua was at Seafield.
A flock of 110 Snipe and 14 Knot were at Lough Donnell.
There were 35 Snipe at Doonbeg with another 20 Snipe at Clahane.

Today at the Bridges of Ross there was one juvenile Sabine's Gull, 29 Sooty Shearwaters,
13 Arctic Skuas, 28 Bonxies, one Red-throated Diver, six Common Scoters and 11
Common Terns.
One juvenile Sabine's Gull and one Carrion Crow were on the beach at Quilty.
One Merlin was at Killard Bay, Doonbeg.
There were six Greylag Geese at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus early this morning.
Three Jay were washing in pools of water at the rear of a house close to Ballyallia Lake.
A Barn Owl crossed the road near the Auburn Lodge around 10p.m.

At the Bridges of Ross this morning there were three Leach's Petrels, six Arctic Skuas,
one Pomarine Skua, eight Great Skuas, three Sabine's Gulls, two Grey Phalaropes and 
eight Sooty Shearwaters.
One Pomarine Skua and two Bonxies were at Killard Bay, Doonbeg.
One juvenile Sabine's Gull was at Farrihy Bay.
One Short-eared Owl was at Tullagher Bog.

One Wilson's Storm Petrel was at the Bridges of Ross this afternoon (Chris ten Bohmer).
Also at the bridges were three Sabine's Gulls, two Leach's Petrel, two Sooty Shearwaters,

At the Bridges of Ross today there was one Long-tailed Skua, seven Cory's Shearwaters, 
251 Great Shearwaters, 1,200 Sooty Shearwaters, two Balearic Shearwaters,
10,000 Manx Shearwaters,  25 Sabine's Gulls, 40 Arctic Skuas, 16 Bonxies,
25 Storm Petrels, seven Leach's Petrels, 12 Grey Phalaropes, five Brent Geese,
six Common Scoter, three Red-throated Divers, 50 Arctic Terns, 22 Sandwich Terns
and four Black-tailed Godwits.
One Great Skua (Bonxie) was at Seafield, Quilty.
A Raven was seen at Ballyallia Wood this evening.
An all white albino Swallow has been frequenting the River Fergus in Ennis
between the Auburn Lodge and the water works near the Lees Road for the
past few weeks.

One GOLDEN EAGLE was seen soaring high in the sky over Carron (Emma Glanville).
At the Bridges of Ross today there were three Sabine's Gulls, one Leach's Petrel,
seven Storm Petrels, three Balearic Shearwaters, 41 Sooty Shearwaters, one Pomarine Skua,
44 Arctic Skuas, seven Bonxies, 113 Sandwich Terns, 32 Arctic Terns, one Common Scoter,
seven Brent Geese, one Red-throated Diver and one Great Northern Diver.
One Arctic Skua was at Rinville Bay, Carrigaholt.
At Mountscribe, Kinvarra, Galway this afternoon there was a juvenile Sabine's Gull.

Six Buff-breasted Sandpipers flew east over the car park at the Bridges of Ross (John N Murphy,
Cillian Boyd & Steve Webb).
At sea of the Bridges of Ross were; two Long-tailed Skuas, seven Sabine's Gulls,
three Balearic Shearwaters, 34 Sooty Shearwaters, 38 Arctic Skuas, 18 Bonxies,
five Grey Phalaropes, 98 Arctic Terns, 146 Whimbrels, seven Common Scoter, 
14 Brent Geese and one Great Northern Diver.
One Water Rail was in the pool at Kilbaha harbour with two Arctic Skuas seen
chasing Kittiwakes in the bay off Kilbaha.
There were four Little Egrets at Querrin.

Friday 28th August 2009
Seabird passage was really good today at the Bridges of Ross
with one Wilson's Storm Petrel (Niall Keogh et al) one adult Long-tailed Skua,
over 56 Sabines Gulls, 12 Leach's Petrels, 130 Storm Petrels, 300 Sooty Shearwaters,
5 Balearic Shearwaters, two Pomarine Skuas, 43 Arctic Skuas, 56 Bonxies, 75 Arctic Terns,
35 Sandwich Terns, 4 Common Scoters, one Blue Fulmar, 40 Grey Phalaropes,
one first-winter Little Gull and 12 Puffins.
At Black Head this evening there were three adult Sabine's Gulls, two light phase
Arctic Skuas and five Bonxies.
At Hags Head there were 20 Grey Phalaropes, one Bonxie, 12 Sandwich Terns, four
Arctic Terns thousands of Manx Shearwaters heading Northwards and with were
two Sooty Shearwaters and 12 Storm Petrels.
One juvenile Mediterranean Gull was at Clahane along with one Arctic Skua, 
30 Sandwich Terns, 30 Whimbrel and a mixed flock of gulls, Common and 
Arctic Terns.
There were 120 Ringed Plover and 50 Sanderling at Seafield, Quilty.
One male Hen Harrier was at Kilduff Upper.

four Common Scoter, 39 Arctic Terns, two Puffins and one Peregrine were at the Bridges of Ross.
One second-summer Ring-billed Gull was at Spanish Point.

Monday 24th August 2009
There were 85 plus Sooty Shearwaters, five Balearic Shearwaters, four adult Sabine's Gulls,
65 Storm Petrels, 22 Arctic Skuas, 13 Bonxies, five Puffins, 24 Whimbrel and four Common
Scoter at the Bridges of Ross today.
One Buzzard was seen east of Lisseycasey.

At the Bridges of Ross today there was no passage in the morning while
in the afternoon after the heavy rain passed over there were three Balearic Shearwater,
100 Sooty Shearwaters, 16 Arctic Skuas, nine Bonxies, 12 Storm Petrels, 100 Whimbrel,
one Puffin, one Red-throated Diver and three Common Scoters.
One Barn Owl was near Corofin village.
One Ruff and 10 Black-tailed Godwits were at Lough Donnell.

Saturday 22nd August 2009
There was a huge flock of over 8,000 Manx Shearwaters off Loop Head this morning.
In with this flock there wee hundreds of Gannets and three Sooty Shearwters.
Also past the head was a mixed flock of waders (11 Bar-tailed Godwits, seven Whimbrel & 
three Curlew).
At the Bridges of Ross were 
One female Marsh Harrier was at Kilcredaun Marsh.
One Green Sandpiper was at Moyasta while another was near Blackweir Bridge both 
Poulnasherry Bay.
One juvenile Ruff was at Lough Donnell.
There were 14 Little Egrets at the Shannon Airport Lagoon.

This morning at the Bridges of Ross there was one Great Shearwater, one adult Long-tailed Skua,
16 adult Sabines Gulls, two Grey Phalaropes, four Balearic Shearwaters, 38 Sooty Shearwaters, 
three Pomarine Skuas, seven Arctic Skuas, four Bonxies one Blue Fulmar.
There were 16 Little Egrets and 600 Black-tailed Godwits at Shannon Airport Lagoon.

There were 109 Curlew and ten Black-tailed Godwits at Lough Atedaun.
Four Little Egrets were at Tullyvarraga Marsh, Shannon.
There were three female Blackcaps at Applewood, Ballycar.

There were two Wilson's Petrels at the Brisges of Ross this morning (Tom Lowe et al).
Also at the Bridges of Ross were three Balearic Shearwaters, 20 Sooty Shearwaters, 
two adult Pomarine Skuas, 28 Arctic Skuas and nine Bonxies,.
There were two Ruff and a family party of Water Rails at the pool in Kilbaha.
There was one second-winter Glaucous Gull, one first-winter Ring-billed Gull,
one Arctic Skua, one Common Sandpiper,  10 Whimbrel, 100 Sandwich Terns,
80 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and a Raven at the bolder beach between Lurga Point
and Lough Donnel, Quilty.
One Arctic Skua was at Quilty beach.
Two Arctic Skuas, one Bonxie, two Storm Petrels, 50 Arctic and 50 Sandwich Terns 
were at Green Island, Miltown Malbay.

at the Bridges of Ross (Tom Lowe).

Skuas and 15 Bonxies.
One Kingfisher was at the Claureen River attenuation pond.
There were 15 Little Egrets and 800 Black-tailed Godwits at Shannon Airport Lagoon.
Six Chough were seen at Fanore this afternoon.

Thursday 13th August 2009
There was very little seabird movement at the Bridges of Ross today
with the only birds of note being three Common Scoter.
Off Loop Head seabirds were far out and one Balearic Shearwater was seen with
three Sooty Shearwaters in a feeding flock of 200 Manx Shearwaters. There were
two Bonxies and two Storm Petrels also off the Head.
Two Raven and a Peregrine were seen on the Peninsula also.
At the Skivileen River Doonbeg there were 13 Bar-tailed Godwits and 70 Sandwich Terns.

Monday 10th August 2009
There was good Manx shearwater passage at the Bridges of Ross this morning
but after the first three hours things went quiet.  There was one Balearic Shearwater,
13 Sooty Shearwaters, 21 Storm Petrels, 12 Arctic Skuas, two Bonxies and two Common Scoters.
Over 1,000 Black-tailed Godwits were at the Shannon Airport Lagoon of which four were
colour ringed and there was also two Common Sandpipers, eight Shovelor, 12 Teal and
ten Little Egrets between Shannon Town and the lagoon.
One Little Egret was at Lough Cullaune, the Burren.
One Common Sandpiper was at the sewages works near Bunratty.
One Stock Dove and one Water Rail were at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
There was a flock of 92 Lesser Black-backed Gulls in a field near Clifden, Corofin.

A Little Egret was at Islandavanna.
Two Jay and a Raven were spotted at Lees Road Wood.
One male Blackcap ad 22 Swifts were at Applewood, Ballycar.

One dark and one pale phased Arctic Skuas were at Lough Atedaun, Corofin.
A Raven was seen near Tubber

Two Raven and a Yellowhammer were seen near Mullaghmore.
A Blackcap was singing in Lees Road Wood.
One Jay was at the Bog in Lisseycasey.

There were 48 Swifts and 121 Mute Swans at Lough Atedaun, Corofin.

Wednesday 17th June 2009
There was one Jay,  three male Blackcaps and three fledglings at Clifden Hill, Corofin.
Two Jay and one male Blackcap were seen in Lees Road Wood this afternoon.
There were six Tufted Ducks and three Teal at Lough Inchiquin.
One Jay was at Mullaghmore.
One Jay and one Blackcap were at Gort Coirce, Dysert.

There were 14 Little Egrets at the Shannon Airport Lagoon.
One Common Sandpiper was at Ballycorick Bridge, Ballynacally.
One Jay was at Newhall Lake, near Clarecastle.
One Blackcap was at Clondagad Church and graveyard.
One Blackcap was at Applewood, Ballycar. 

Monday 15th June 2009
One Osprey was at Dough Lough (Mark Wilson). 
Two male Blackcaps were singing near Plassey, on the north shore of the Shannon River.
One male Blackcap was at Applewood, Balylcar along with one Spotted Flycatcher.
Another was singing in Lees Road Wood.

One male Blackcap was still singing at Applewood, Ballycar.

One Blackcap was singing at Applewood, Ballycar.

Two Yellowhammer were at Mullaghmore.

One male Blackcap was at Tullyvarraga  Hill Shannon with another at Smithstown.

One adult Mediterranean Gull was found nesting within the Black-headed Gulls
and Sandwich Terns at Corronroo on the Clare/Galway border this afternoon.
Also at Corronroo were two Little Egrets.
One Iceland Gull was at Lahinch Beach.
One Blackcap was singing at Applewood, Ballycar.
One Jay was at Castlecrine, Sixmilebridge.
Two Blackcaps were at Bell Harbour.

A Fieldfare was seen gathering food this morning at a garden in Bell Harbour.

Paradise House, Ballynacally.
One male Blackcap was at Applewood, Ballycar.
Two male Blackcaps and a Jay were at Roxton, Corofin.
One Common Sandpiper, one Blackcap and two Ravens were at Cooloootra, the Burren.
