Friday 31st August 2007
At the Bridges of Ross today there was;
one Arctic Skua, five Bonxies, six Sooty Shearwaters,
one Sabines Gull, two juvenile Little Gulls, three Storm Petrels,
four Common Scoter, and one Puffin. 
Off Kilbaha village there was one Bonxie, a Pomarine Skua,
and five Arctic Skuas.  A White Wagtail was in the pool at Kilbaha and
a juvenile Hen Harrier was seen hunting over the headland.
One Bonxie was off the tip of Loop Head.
There were five first-winter Mediterranean Gulls at Querrin Pier.
One Little Egret was seen at Doonbeg.

Thursday 30th August 2007
Three Little Terns and two White Wagtails were at Seafield, Quilty.
At the Bridges of Ross there were four Arctic Skuas, a Bonxie,
two Storm Petrels and four Common Scoters.
Seven Little Egrets, a Peregrine and 15 Greenshank were at 
Poulnasherry Bay.
 
Wednesday 29th August 2007
There were two Arctic Skuas, a Pomarine Skua and four Common Scoter
at the Bridges of Ross.
One Spotted Redshank and ten Little Egrets were at Poulnasherry Bay today.

Tuesday 28th Agust 2007
At the Bridges of Ross things were quiet with only
one Pomarine and five Arctic Skuas, one Sooty Shearwater,
two Balearic Shearwaters, ten Whimbrel, four Common Scoter
and one White Wagtail.
A Minke Whale was seen off Loop Head.

Monday 27th August 2007
The Long-billed Dowitcher and a Spotted Redshank
were at the Shannon Airport Lagoon (Richard Bonser).
At the Bridges of Ross today there was four Balearic Shearwaters,
one Sooty Shearwater, four Arctic Skuas and two Pomarine Skuas.
There were four Meditteranean Gulls at Knock Pier, three adults and
one juvenile. 
A flock of 80 Sandwich Terns and 50 Sanderling were at Carrigaholt.
One Water Rail was at Kilcredaun Marsh.
One Kingfisher was at Doonbeg.
One Little Tern was at Liscannor. 

Sunday 26th August 2007
There were reports of a Fea's Petrel at the Bridges of Ross today (Allan Conlin)(5.45pm).
There were 20 Sooty Shearwaters , five Balearic Shearwaters and
one Arctic Skua also at the Bridges. 
Also off Loop Head in the mouth of the Shannon a large bird of
prey taught to be a White-tailed Sea Eagle was seen being harrased
by seabirds as it flew over the sea. 
Three Common Sandpipers were at Lahinch Marsh.
A female Hen Harrier was near Liscannor.
There were two Little Terns at Quilty.

Saturday 25th August 2007
A Fea's Petrel was seen on two occasions this evening at the Bridges of Ross
(Andy Clifton et al 6.50pm & 7.40pm).
Also at the Bridges were four Great Shearwaters, 600 Sooty Shearwaters,
28 Balearic Shearwaters, two Sabines Gulls, three Common Scoter and 25
Whimbrel. There were five Sun Fish, one Basking Shark and 22 Common Dolphins.
The ROSE-COLOURED STARLING was still in Ennis (Marc Hughes).
Two Little Terns and two Red-throated Divers were at Liscannor.
Three Common Sandpipers and a Kingfisher were at lahinch Marsh.
Ten Little Egrets were near Moyasta and a Kingfisher was at Moyasta Creek.
One Water Rail was at Kilcredaun Marsh.

Friday 24th August 2007
The Long-billed Dowitcher was at the Shannon Airport Lagoon
today along with one Little Egret (Mick Frosdick).
Seawatching at the Bridges of Ross this morning produced one Great
Shearwater, 185 Sooty Shearwaters, seven Balearic Shearwaters,
13 Arctic Skuas, three Bonxies, eight Storm Petrels and two Sabine's Gulls.
A flock of 13 Chough were seen at the Fodry Loop Head.

Thursday 23rd August 2007
The ROSE-COLOURED STARLING was still near the Half Way
House in Ennis (Finbarr MacGabhann).
At the Bridges of Ross there was one Great Shearwater,
20 Sooties and eight Balearic Shearwaters.
The immature/female Garganey was at the Shannon Airport Lagoon.

Wednesday 22nd August 2007
The ROSE-COLOURED STARLING was once again at
the Half Way House, Ennis (Marc Hughes).
One Reed Warbler and three White Wagtails were at Doonbeg.
Two White Wagtails were at Lough Donnell.
One Jay was on the Cahercalla Road in Ennis.

Tuesday 21st August 2007
The ROSE-COLOURED STARLING was still at the Half Way
House in Ennis this morning (Finbarr MacGabhann). 
There were reports of a Fea's Petrel from the Bridges of Ross today
(Richard Taylor et al (12.25).
The Long-billed Dowitcher, one Spotted Redshank and a Little Egret
were at the Shannon Airport Lagoon (Dave MacNamara). 
A flock of 100 Sandwich Terns were on Fanore Beach.

Monday 20th August 2007
The ROSE-COLOURED STARLING showed well today near the Half Way House Pub,
across from the Statoil Petrol Station on the Clare Road in Ennis (Finbarr MacGabhann et al).
The Long-billed Dowitcher and BONAPARTES GULL were on display throughout the day
at the Shannon Airport Lagoon (Stan Nugent, John N Murphy et al).
At the Bridges of Ross there were; two Balearic Shearwaters, eight Sooty Shearwaters,
ten Bonxies seven Arctic Skuas and a few Storm Petrels.

Sunday 19th August 2007
An adult ROSE-COLOURED STARLING was found near the Statoil Petrol Station
on the Ennis/Limerick Road across from the West County Hotel, Ennis.
This is only the seventh record for Clare. 
The BONAPARTES GULL and Long -billed Dowitcher were still at the Shannon
Airport Lagoon.
At the Bridges of Ross and Loop Head there was poor seawatching with
five Bonxies, four Arctic Skuas, 18 Sooty Shearwatwers, three Balearic Shearwaters,
one adult summer Little Auk, two Grey Phalaropes and six Common Scoter.
One Green Sandpiper was at Moyasta, Poulnasherry Bay.
One White Wagtail was at Doonbeg.
Two Chough were at Lough Donnell.

Saturday 18th August 2007
The Long-billed Dowitcher, the BONAPATRES GULL and an
immature/female Garganey and one Little Egret were at the Shannon
Airport Lagoon today (John N Murphy).
There were two Cory's Shearwaters, one adult Sabine's Gull,
Three Bonxies , three Arctis Skuas, eight Sooty Shearwaters,
five Balearctic Shearwters and two Storm Petrels at the Bridges
of Ross.
One Green and one Common Sandpiper were at Doonbeg.
One Mediterranean Gull was at Quilty.

Friday 17th August 2007
The Long-billed Dowitcher was at The Sahnnon Airport Lagoon
(Dave McNamara).
The BONAPATRES GULL was also present (the Foleys).
One Little Stint was at Seafield, Quilty.
Two Mediterranean Gulls were at Quilty. 
One Reed Warbler and a Kingfisher were at Doonbeg.

Thursday 16th August 2007
Seawatching at the Bridges of Ross was quiet today with only
two Bonxies and four Sooty Shearwaters.

Wednesday 15th August 2007
A four hour seawatch at the Bridges of Ross this morning produced,
one Cory's Shearwater, two Little Auks, four Arctic Skuas , ne Bonxie,
two Balearic Shearwaters and six Sooty Shearwaters.
A female Hen Harrier was at Lisdoonvarna.
A Peregrine and one second-winter Mediterranean Gull were at
Seafield, Quilty.

Tuesday 14th August 2007
The Long-billed Dowitcher & BONAPARTES GULL were still at the Shannon
Airport Lagoon (Finbarr MacGabhann). There were lots of other waders also
at the Lagoon including one Spotted Redshank.

Monday 13th January 2007
The Long-billed Dowitcher is still at the Shannon Airport Lagoon
(John Rattigan), along with one Green Sandpiper. 
Two Little Egrets were at Kildysart.

Sunday 12th August 2007
The BONAPARTES GULL was on the mudflats near the jetty at the
Shannon Airport Lagoon this morning (John N Murphy).
The Long-billed Dowitcher was at the Shannon Airport Lagoon in early
afternoon (John Rattigan).
At the Bridges of Ross today there were hundreds of Manx Shearwaters
passing per hour, three Balearic Shearwaters, two Bonxies and one
Arctic Skua. One Sun Fish was also off the Bridges of Ross.
There was one Common Sandpiper at Cloghaun Lough, Loop Head. 
Three Ruff were at Lough Donnell.

Saturday 11th August 2007
The Long-billed Dowitcher was still at the Shannon Airport
Lagoon (Finbarr MacGabhann) along with on Little Egret.
There were three Whooper Swans at Lough Atedaun, Corofin. 

Friday 10th August 2007
An adult BONAPARTES GULL was at the Shannon Airport Lagoon today with a
large flock of about 1,500 Black-headed Gulls (Dave McNamara, John N Murphy
& Finbarr MacGabhann). This was a great find by Dave and only the third record for Clare.
Also at the lagoon were two Water Rails, one Spotted Redshank and the Long-billed
Dowitcher (John N Murphy & Finbarr MacGabhann).
One Pectoral Sandpiper was at Lough Donnell this morning (Dave McNamara).
Also at Lough Donnell were one adult Ring-billed Gull and one second
winter Mediterranean Gull. 
One Green Sandpiper was at Doonbeg.
One Peregrine and two Ravens were at Cloghaun Lough, Loop Head.

Thursday 9th August 2007
There was one Reed Warbler at Doonbeg Bay this evening,
along with one Common Sandpiper.
Three Common Sandpipers were at the Skivileen River near the Doonbeg Golf
Course Clubhouse.
Four Common Sandpipers and three Chough were at Lahinch Marsh.

Wednesday 8th August 2007
The SPOTTED SANDPIPER was once again at Doonbeg Bay
this morning (Lorraine Benson).  Also at Doonbeg were three
Reed Warblers, one Green and one Common Sandpiper.

Monday 6th August 2007
The Long-billed Dowitcher was on the mudflats near the Shannon
Airport Lagoon this morning (John N Murphy).
One juvenile Hen Harrier, two Chough and three Raven were at Lough Donnell.
Four Common Sandpipers were at Poulnasherry Bay.
A blue phased Fulmar was off the Bridges of Ross along with thousands of Manx Shearwaters.
Two Chough were at the Cliffs of Moher.

Sunday 5th August 2007
The SPOTTED SANDPIPER was still a Doonbeg Bay this morning
(Dermot Breen, Lorraine Benson et al).
Also at Doonbeg were four Common Sandpipers, one Little Egret,
50 Whimbrel, one Tree Sparrow, three Ravens and one Kingfisher.
A Wilson's Petrel was at the Bridges of Ross (Dermot Breen).
Also at the Bridges were five, Bonxies, five Arctic Skuas, one
Pomarine Skua, ten Sooty Shearwaters and six Storm Petrels.
There was one Spotted Redshank at Poulnasherry Bay.
One Peregrine, one  Bonxie and five Storm Petrels were at
Green Island near Miltown Malbay.

Saturday 4th August 2007
An adult summer SPOTTED SANDPIPER was at Doonbeg
Bay this evening (Dave McNamara), along side four Common Sandpipers
and a flock of 100 Whimbrel.
This is only the third Clare record of Spotted Sandpiper.
The Long-billed Dowithcher was at the Shannon Airport Lagoon
again today (Finbarr MacGabhann and Dermot Breen).
There was also two Curlew Sandpipers, three Little Egrets and
one female Common Scoter.
At the Bridges of Ross today there were;
ten Bonxies, 16 Arctic Skuas, one Pomarine Skua, 58 Sooty Shearwaters,
25 Storm Petrels and 42 Whimbrel. 

Friday 3rd August 2007
The Long-billed Dowitcher was at the Shannon Airport Lagoon this
evening (Hugh Delaney) along side one Spotted Redshank and one
Curlew Sandpiper.

Thursday 2nd August 2007
There was a Stock Dove at Applewood, Ballycar this morning. 
Four Common Sandpipers were at Doonbeg.
One Little Egret was at Lough Donnell.

There was a Long-billed Dowitcher at The Shannon
Airport Lagoon (Finbarr MacGabhann).
A male Blackcap was at Annalabba Bridge near Corrofin.
Three Peregrines were near Ballybuck North on the east
side of the Burren.
Eight Storm Petrels were off Seafield Pier, Quilty.
Seven Storm Petrels were see near Green Island, Miltown Malbay.
One Peregrine was at Lahinch Marsh.
One Tree Sparrow was at Liscannor.

One Arctic Skua was and one Storm Petel were off Liscannor Pier.
Two Peregrines were near Bartra, Lahinch.

Wednesday 25th July 2007
There was a Kingfisher and one Dipper at Clondagad
Bridge near Ballynacally this afternoon.
Five Storm Petrels and 70 Curlew were at Green Island,
Miltown Malbay earlier today.

There was a Water Rail in a garden at Willow Park, Ennis this afternoon.

Two Common Sandpipers and a Merlin were at Lough Donnell.
A pair of Chough were near Doonbeg.
There was one Peregrine over Ennis.

One Green and two Common Sandpipers were at Doonbeg today,
along with three Whimbrel.
An Artcic Skua and two Great Northern Divers were off Seafield, Quilty.
There were four Storm Petrels off Hags Head.
Eleven Red-throated Divers were in Liscannor Bay.

There were five Common Sandpipers at Doonbeg.

Monday 16th July 2007
There was one Jay at the Lees Wood Road.
One Common Sandpiper was on the River Fergus near Willow Park in Ennis. 

Sunday 15th July 2007
One male Yellowhammer was singing at Carron.
There were two Peregrines at Bartra, Lahinch.
Two Red-throated Divers were at Liscannor.
A flock of 200 Curlew were at Lahinch Marsh.
A small bunch of 19 Black-tailed Godwits were at Lough Donnell. 

Saturday 14th July 2007
A female Hen Harrier was spotted this morning near Booleynaglearagh Bog.
A male Yellowhammer was seen singing from a wire at Carron.
There were 50 Dunlin, 15 Knot and 250 Black-tailed Godwits at the Shannon
Airport Lagoon.  

Friday 13th June 2007
The was a male Hen Harrier seen on the Doonbeg road just north of Kilkee.

Thursday 12th July 2007
One Storm Petrel was off the pier at Seafiled, Quilty.
There was one Common Sandpiper at Liscannor pier.

Monday 9th July 2007
There was one  Wilsons Petrel at the Bridges last Monday (Dermot Breen), along with
two Sooty Shearwaters, 30 Storm Petrels  60,000 Manxies and 2 Sunfish.
One female Hen Harrier was near Whitegate.
Two Jays were in the Lees Wood Road.

The Osprey was at Lahinch this afternoon (Finbarr Mac Gabhann).
One Jay and one Blackcap were at the Lees Wood Road today.
One Arctic Skuas and 60 Storm Petrels were off the Bridges of Ross.
Five Tree Sparrows were at Liscannor.
There were ten Storm Petrels off the pier at Seafield Quilty today.
Another 25 Storm Petrels were off Liscannor Pier.

There were three Storm Petrels off Green Island, Miltown Malbay this evening.

Wednesday 4th July 2007
Two Wilson's Petrels were off the Bridges of Ross (Killian Mullarney).
There were also thousands of Manx Shearwaters, one Sooty Shearwater
and 120 Storm Petrels.
There were 20 Storm Petrels at Seafield, Quilty with seven more seen
off Green Island near Miltown Malbay.
There was one Arctic Skua and 10 Storm Petels and  100 Manx
Shearwaters off Liscannor.
Two Blackcaps were heard singing on Maghera Mountain.
There was a pair of Siskins also at Magehera this afternoon.

Tuesday 3rd July 2007
Two Common Sandpipers and a juvenile Green Sandpiper were at Doonbeg.
Two Storm Petrels were off Seafield Pier, Quilty.
One Red-throated Diver was at Liscannor.
One Common Sandpiper was at the Inagh Estuary.

Monday 2nd July 2007
One Blackcap was singing at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Two Tree Sparrows had a second brood at the old church in Liscannor.
One Peregrine was at Lahinch.
One male Blackcap was singing at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Wednesday 28th June 2007
An Osprey was seen at Lough Acrow near Lisseycasey this morning (Barry O'Donoghue)(12.40).
The Osprey was also at Lahinch Marsh at 12 noon (Dave McNamara).
Not sure if the bird at Lough Acrow is the same individual as that at Lahinch.
One male Hen Harrier was near Lisseycasey.
Three Common Sandpipers were at Lough Acrow.
A small flock of 10 Storm Petrels were off Hags Head.
One male Blackcap was singing at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

One Blackcap was singing behind the Town Hall in Shannon this morning.

Monday 25th June 2007
Two Long-eared Owls were at Tubber.

Sunday 24th June 2007
The Osprey returned to Lahinch Marsh this afternoon (Dave McNamara),
alongside seven Kestrels.
One Great Northern Diver, 170 Sandwich Terns, one Raven and one
Peregrine were at Liscannor. 
One Jay was at Mooghaun Wood.

Saturday 23rd June 2007
One Long-eared Owl was at Tubber.

Friday 22nd June 2007
One Jay and one Blackcap were at Mooghaun Wood.

Thursday 21st June 2007
Two male Goldeneye, four Common Scoter and a flock of
70 Sandwich Terns were at Liscannor.
A flock of 120 Curlew were at Lahinch Marsh.
Twenty Srtorm Petrels were near Green Island, Miltown Malbay.
One Jay was at the Lees Wood Road.
 
Wednesday 20th June 2007
There were 100 Storms Petrels off Hags Head with another 20 and two
Great Northern Divers at Seafield and Lurga Point.  Twenty more Storm
Petrels were at Green Island.
One Storm Petrel and 200 Manx Shearwaters were off Liscannor Pier.
One Great Northern Diver was at Kilkee.
Two male Blackcaps were at Ballyallia Lake with another male near
Drumcliff graveyard.

One male Blackcap was singing at Fenloe Lake, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Monday 18th June 2007
One Jay and one Blackcap were again seen at Mooghaun.

Sunday 17th June 2007
One Jay and one Blackcap were at Mooghaun, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
One Jay was seen near Giorroga on the Gort Road in Ennis this morning.

Saturday 16th June 2007
The Osprey was once again at Lahinch Marsh (Austin Cooney).
One Kingfisher was seen at the Abbey Street car park in Ennis.

Friday 15th June 2007
The Osprey was still at Lahinch (Finbarr MacGabhann & Dave McNamara.)
There were eight Tree Sparrows at the small church near Liscannor.
A flock of 32 Sandwich Terns were on the beach at Liscannor along with
seven Knot and 11 Sanderling.
A large flock of about 300 hirundines were seen hawking over the Fergus
river near Doora on the Quin Road in Ennis with them there were about
80 Swift.

A Blackcap was heard singing at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

There was one male Blackcap at Ballyallia and another
near Cranny.

Tuesday 12th June 2007
The Osprey was showing well this evening at Lahinch
Marsh (John N Murphy & Dave McNamara).
One Blackcap was heard calling at Boolynagleeragh Bog in Lisseycasey.

Monday 11th June 2007
The Osprey was still at Lahinch Marsh (Dave McNamara).
One Blackcap was at Ballyallia Lake.
Twenty Whimbrel were at Quilty.
One Great Northern Diver was at Kilkee today.

Sunday 10th June 2007
The Osprey was still at Lahinch Marsh this morning (Tom Lynch).
A Barn Owl was seen in Sixmilebridge.
One Blackcap was singing at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Saturday 9th June 2007
The Osprey has returned to Lahinch Marsh (Dave McNamara).
One male Hen Harrier was sen near Lisseycasey.
There were six Little Stints at the Shannon Airport Lagoon this evening
along with 12 Dunlin, one Ringed Plover, one Redshank, one Black-
tailed Godwit, two Lapwing, two pairs of Teal, five drake Shoveler and two Water Rail.
One Blackcap was singing at the Lees Wood Road.

Friday 8th June 2007
A pair of Peregrines were found nesting near Lahinch and the nest is being
observed on a daily basis.
One Little Egret was seen near Iniscullen Hill in Shannon.

One male Blackcap was heard at Mount Callan.
One Blackcap was singing at Ballyallia Lake.
One Raven was at the Lees Wood Road in Ennis.

One Jay and four Blackcaps were at Dromore Nature Reserve.

A pair of Yellowhammer were seen this morning at Caherconnell Stone Fort
in the Burren.

Tuesday 29th of May 2007
A pair of Common Sandpiper and 4 chicks were seen at Lough Bunny.
A Water Rail was also seen there and 2 more were spotted at Shannon Airport Lagoon.
A Blackcap was singing at Lees Road Wood and 2 more were singing in Dromore Nature Reserve.
A Raven was seen close to the entrance to Dromore.
A pair of Spotted Flycatchers were seen near Inch Bridge.

Monday 28th of May 2007
A Jay was heard in Lees Road Wood this afternoon.
Two Tree Sparrows were seen at Clahaun.
Two Peregrine and 300 Manx Shearwaters were reported from Black Head.

Sunday 27th of May 2007
A Blackcap was singing at Lees Road Wood this morning.
The OSPREY was seen near Lahinch Golf Club again this afternoon.
Two Chough were also present in the same area.
A female Hen Harrier was reported from Donagoor Bog.
An Arctic Skua was seen in Liscannor.

Saturday 26th of May 2007
An OSPREY was  spotted at the back of the castle at Lahinch Golf Course.(Geoff Pearson)
Good views of bird feeding on a fish on top of electricity pole.
The two Pomarine Skua are still at Creg Beach Lahinch.Can be viewed from a distance of 2 metres.
A Jay and 2 Blackcap were at Lees Road Wood this morning.

A Jay was seen in Lees Road Wood this evening.
One Artcic Skua was off Quilty.
Two POMARINE SKUA still at Creg Beach Lahinch.Three Raven also there.

One POMARINE SKUA was still feeding on the  carcass at Creg Beach Lahinch
this morning.In the evening a second POMARINE SKUA joined in the feast.
An Arctic Skua and thirty Sandwich Tern were seen at Liscannor.
Three Blackcap were at Lees Road Wood and another at Cranny.

Wednesday 23rd of May 2007
Two POMARINE SKUA  were at Creg Beach Lahinch(Milltown-Malbay road) all day.
They were feeding on a carcass very close to the shore.(Dave McNamara)
They were joined later in the evening by 2 Arctic Skua.

Tuesday 22nd of May 2007
An adult Ringed-billed Gull and a Peregrine were at Lough Donnel(Dave McNamara)
Four Tree Sparrows and three Ravens were spotted at Liscannor and another Tree Sparrow
was seen at Clahaun,Liscannor.
At least three Blackcap were singing this evening in Lees Road Wood and another
was seen at Ballyallia Lake later.

Monday 21st of May 2007
Two Blackcap were singing this afternoon in Lees Road Wood,Ennis,and
 2 more were seen  later in the evening on the Rabbit Island Trail in
Dromore Wood Nature Reserve .A single Blackcap was also reported from
Cranny and Ballyallia Lake.
Up to 30 Whitethroat were reported from Cranny area.

Sunday 20th 0f May 2007
At the Dawn Chorus outing to the Burren this morning 8 Yellowhammers were
seen near Mullaghmore with one more at Commons South Kilnaboy.
Two Common Sandpipers  and 2 Blackcaps were observed near Mullaghmore also.
A good number of cuckoos were calling in the area as well.
Four Tree Sparrows were seen in Liscannor and a Peregrine was spotted
in Lahinch Marsh.

A Jay was spotted in Lees Road Wood Ennis this afternoon and
a Blackcap was also singing there.

A Kingfisher flew past Drehidnagower Bridge in Ennis this evening.

Two Tree Sparrows were seen at Liscannor with another at Seafield.
A Dipper was at the Falls in Ennistymon.
A Little Egret was observed at Killimer Ferry.

There were over 2000 Manx Shearwaters off the Bridges of Ross today.
Forty Purple Sandpipers were at Seafield near Quilty.
A Tree Sparrow was seen at Liscannor.

A Raven flew over Ennis CBS this morning and another  was seen
later in the evening at Ballyallia Lake.
A Blackcap was heard singing in Lees Road Wood this afternoon.

A Garganey was spotted at Shannon Airport Lagoon this afternoon.
Two Blackcap were singing at Lees Road Wood.

Two Blackcap were singing at Dromore Wood near Ruan this afternoon.
A Jay and 2 Spotted Flycatcher were also present there.
There were 2 Whimbrel at Islandavanna this evening.

Two Yellowhammer  and 3 Blackcap  were singing at Mullaghmore this evening.
Three Whitethroat were also singing at Commons South,Kilnaboy.

another later in the evening in Lees Road Wood.

A small flock of Whimbrel were at Ballymacguiggan Lake, Drumcliffe.

A Jay flew over Lees Road Wood just before dusk.
Three Swifts were seen over  Knockanean school earlier today.

A flock of 46 Whimbrel were seen at the Flaggy Shore this morning.
There were 4 Swifts flying over Ballyallia Lake this evening.

Saturday 5th of May 2007
There were 3 cuckoos together on a telephone wire near Cranny this afternoon.
A Red-throated Diver was reported in Liscannor Bay.
A Little Egret was reported at Doora Bridge.

Friday 4th of May 2007
Female Hen Harrier at Lahinch Marsh.A Grasshopper Warbler was at Dunagoor Bog.
Up to 500 Whimbrel were spotted between Quilty and Lough Donnel.
Also good numbers of Whimbrel along the Flaggy Shore.
A flock of 20 Shearwaters were seen far out to sea  from the Flaggy Shore.

Thursday 3rd May 2007
There was a Blackcap singing at McGraths Quarry in Tulla this morning.
A small flock of 14 Whimbrel flew into Ballyblood Bog near Kilkishen.

Wednesday 2nd May 2007
There was one Blackcap and two Greylag Geese and 12 Whimbrel
at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
There were sixteen Whimbrel reported at Knockanean this afternoon and seven  over Ballyallia Lake, Ennis
 this evening.

Tuesday 1st May 2007
There was an Osprey resting on a spruce tree at the top of Slieve Elva
at approximately 6.25pm this evening (John N Murphy).
One Jay was also in the same spruce plantation as the Osprey.
One Blackcap was at Lisdoonvarna with another at Ballycar,
Newmarket-on-Fergus.
A flock of 65 Whimbrel flew over Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus this evening.
There were 89 Whimbrel at Islandavanna, Clarecastle.

Monday 30th April 2007
There was one Blackcap at Ballycar Newmarket-on-Fergus along with 87 Whimbrel.
One Blackcap was on the Lees Wood Road in Ennis with another
singing at Ballyallia Lake.
Two Yellowhammers and one Blackcap were at the Mullaghmore in
the Burren National Park.

Sunday 29th April 2007
In the hills south of Ballinruan, east Clare there were three Grasshopper
Warblers heard singing along with one Blackcap and one male Hen Harrier.
One Whitethroat was heard singing near Clahane, Liscannor.
One male Blackcap and a Peregrine were at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Saturday 28th April 2007
Six Yellowhammers were at Mullaghmore in the Burren.
Two White Wagtails and 20 Whimbrel were at Clahane, Liscannor.
A flock of 150 Whimbrel were at Liscannor.
Over 35 Whimbrel and a White Wagtail were on the beach at Quilty.
There were 100 Whimbrel and a Peregrine at Lough Donnell.
A Black-headed Gull was seen at Lahinch Marsh wearing yellow coloured
band on its left leg with the following details 283A (Dave McNamara).

There was one Blackcap at Doora Industrial Estate on the Quin Road, Ennis.
Three Swifts were in Ennis Town.
Two Common Sandpipers were at Lough Bunny.
One Common Sandpiper was at O'Briens Lough near Crusheen.

Wednesday 25th April 2007
One Swift was seen in Ennis Town.
A small bunch of 21 Whinbrel flew North-West over
Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus this evening.
There was also a Water Rail calling at Ballycar Lake.

Tuesday 24th April 2007
A flock of 82 Whimbrel were on the south end of the
beach at Seafield, Quilty today.

Monday 23rd April 2007
There were 20 Whimbrel at Seafirld, Quilty with another 40 were
at Liscannor.
One male Merlin was at the White Strand, Doonbeg.

One male Blackcap was at the Lees Road Wood today.

Friday 20th April 2007
A male Grasshopper Warbler was singing near Kilfenora today.
A sedge Warbler ws heard singing at Roche in Clarecastle.
There was two Long-tailed Ducks at Liscannor.
A flock of 59 Whimbrel flew north westwards over Ballycar,
Newmarket-on-Fergus this evening.
There ws also one male Blackcap and one Water Rail at Ballycar.
One Raven was at Oak Park, Ennis this morning.

Thursday 19th April 2007
One adult Ring-billed Gull and two Whimbrel were on Quilty beach.
One Black-throated Diver and one Whimbrel were at Liscannor.
One Raven was at Ennis Friary.
Two Ravens were at Kilbaha.
Two Yellowhammers were at Ballycarrol, Barefield.
One male Blackcap was singing at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Wednesday 18th April 2007
One adult Ring-billed Gull and two Whimbrel were on Quilty beach.
One White Wagtail, one Black-throated Diver and one Whimbrel
were at Liscannor.
There was one Raven in Sixmilebridge this morning.
Two Ravens were in Tescos Car Park in Ennis.

Tuesday 17th April 2007
One Cuckoo was heard calling this morning at Darragh.
There were three Whimbrel at Liscannor.
One Raven was at the Clare Museum.
A large arrival House Martins were seen along the River Fergus
with over 20 at Clarecastle and another 20 in Ennis town. 
One Blackcap was sining at Ballyallia Lake, Ennis.

Monday 16th April 2007
There was one first-winter Iceland Gull at Clahane, Liscannor.
One first-winter Glaucous Gull at Seafield, Quilty.
One first-winter Mediterranean Gull at Lahinch.
One first winter Mediterannean Gull at Quilty wearing a green
band on its left leg.
One Blackcap was at the Lees Wood Road.
One Blackcap was at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Sunday 15th April 2007 
One male Cuckoo was heard calling at Loughaun North, Magera today.
This was the first bird recorded in Clare this year.
There was also one male Hen Harrier at Maghera.
Three Crossbills were at Kilnacreagh Wood, (two females\& one Male).
One Blackcap was at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Saturday 14th April 2007
Four Crossbills were at Kilnacreagh Wood along with 10 Siskins.
At the Shannon Airport Lagoon there were 187 Redshank, 500 Black-tailed Godwits,
82 Shelduck and one Little Egret.
One Blackcap was singing at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
Two Jays were at the Lees Wood Road in Ennis.
One Carrion Crow was still at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Feregus.

Friday 13th April 2007
One first winter Glaocous Gull was at Kilkee.
A small flock of 13 Chough were at Illaunonearaun along with good breeding
numbers of Cormarants and Lesser Black-backed Gulls all being overlooked 
by a pair of Raven.
One Raven and eight Yellowhammers were at Mullaghmore in the Burren.
One Carrion Crow was at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Thursday 12th April 2007
A small flock of 21 Great Northern Divers were at the Flaggy Shore in north Clare.
Ten Yellowhammers were at Mullaghmore in the Burren.

Wednesday 11th April 2007
One male Blackcap was singing at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
One Raven was at the friary in Ennis.

Tuesday 10th April 2007
Two Jays were on the Lees Wood Road in Ennis.
One Yellowhammer was at Poulnabrone in the Burren.
A flock of 22 Great Northern Divers were off Bishops Quarter near Ballyvaughan.

Friday 6th April 2007
Two Red Grouse were at Mount Callan.
Over 23 Red-throated Divers were at Liscannor.

Thursday 5th April 2007
One Willow Warbler was heard calling at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
A pair of Ravens seem to be taking up residency at the Friary in Ennis.

Tuesday 3rd April 2007
There was one Swallow at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
A flock of 146 Brent Geese were at Bishop's Quarter in North Clare,
while an additional 133 Brent Geese were at Ballyvaughan.
One Yellowhammer was at Corconroe, the Burren.
Two first-winter Mediterannean Gulls and one Sandwich Tern
were on the beach at Quilty.
One female Hen Harrier was at Lough Donnell.
Monday 2nd April 2007
There was one Green Sandpiper, two Grey Wagtails  and
two Dippers at the Falls in Ennistymon.
One Peregrine was at the Liscannor Marsh.
Sunday 1st April 2007
There was on male Chiffchaff calling at the Lees Wood Road, Ennis.
