Saturday 31st March 2007
There were 186 Barnacle Geese and two Peregrines at Lough Donnell.
A flock of 86 Brent Geese were at Liscannor.
One Chiffchaff and one Water Rail were at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

There were four Jays at the Leese Wood Road.

One Buzzard was seen over Connolly.

Tuesday 27th March 2007
Two Red Grouse were heard calling at Mount Callan.
Two Yellowhammers were near Mullaghmore in the Burren.

Monday 26th March 2006
One Chiffchaff was heard calling at Daragh this morning.
There was one first-winter Iceland Gull and three 
Glaucous Gull at Seafield, Quilty.Two Iceland Gulls and one
Merlin were at Liscannor.
Six Barnacle Geese were at Lough Donnell.
One Dipper was at the Claureen River in Kilmaley. 
One Jay was at Dromore Wood.
One Peregrine was at the Cliffs of Moher.
Ten Yellowhammers were at Ballycarrol, Barefield.  

Sunday 25th March 2007
There were eight Crossbills at Letteragh Wood, Kilmaley.
Two Peregrines were at Loop Head.

Saturday 24th March 2007
One female Wheatear and three Yellowhammers were seen on the
road to Poulnabrone in the Burren today.  This was the first record
received for Wheatear this year.
There was a report of a Swallow from Hurlers Cross near Shannon
this morning.
There were eight Little Egrets, two Raven and a flock of 192 Brent
Geese at Poulnasherry Bay. 

Friday 23rd March 2007
A small flock of 12 Tree Sparrow were at Doonbeg.
Two Little Egrets were at Moyasta, Poulnasherry Bay.

Thursday 22nd March 2007
The drake and hen Ring-necked Ducks were still paired
off at Ballyallia Lake (Finbarr MacGabhann & Sean McEnery).
A pair of Ravens were nesting in the beech trees at Ballyallia. 

Monday 19th March 2007
There were seven Housemartins at Drumcliff today the
first recorded in the county for 2007.
There were 70 Brent Geese at Liscannor.
One first-winter Iceland Gull and two Merlins were at Lough Donnell.

Sunday 18th March 2007
There were three Iceland and one Glaucous Gulls
at Liscannor today.

St. Patricks Day 17th March 2007
There were two first-winter winter Iceland Gulls and
one first-winter Glaucous Gull at Liscannor.
One Green Sandpiper and one Dipper were at the Falls
in Ennistymon.  

Thursday 15th March 2007
The Ring-necked Duck pair were again at Ballyallia Lake (Finbarr MacGabhann).
One adult and one first-winter Iceland Gulls were at Clahane, Liscannor.
One Peregrine was at Dysart. 

Wednesday 14th March 2007
There were eight Chough two Raven and four Rock Doves
at Hags Head.
One White Wagtail was at Clahane, Liscannor.
A flock of 60 Brent Geese were at Goleen, Liscannor.  

Tuesday 13th March 2007
One drake Ring-necked Duck was in the wetland area
between Roslevan & Ballymachill (13.00)(John N Murphy).
A drake and female Ring-necked Ducks were at Ballyallia
Lake paired off as can be seen from the pictures below

Monday 12th March 2007
There was one male Ring-necked Duck and nine Sandmartins
at Ballyallia Lake (Tom Lynch).
There was one Raven in the middle of Ennis town.

Saturday 10th March 2007
One Sandmartin was at Shannon today, the first of the Spring.
There was one Dipper on the Claureen River at Kilmaley.
One Raven and 150 Golden Plover were at Boolynagleeragh Bog, Lissycasey.
A flock of 350 Golden Plover were at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

There was one drake and one female Ring-necked Duck
at Ballyallia Lake (Finbarr MacGabhann).
There were 62 Whooper Swans at Ballygireen, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
 
Thursday 8th March 2007
THe drake Ring-necked Duck was once again at the floodplane
between Rosslevan and Ballymacahill (Stan Nugent).
One Little Egret and one second-winter Glaucous Gull were
at Liscannor/Lahinch.
One first-winter Glaucous Gull was at Quilty.
The 16 Whooper Swans were at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus. 

Wednesday 7th March 2007
One drake Ring-necked Duck was at a floodplane near Rosslevan/Ballymacahill
in Ennis along with one Merlin (John N Murphy & Stan Nugent).
One first-winter Iceland Gull was at Liscannor.
A flock of 23 White-fronted Geese were at Lough Mucanagh, near Tubber
along with one female Hen Harrier.
One Long-tailed Duck was still on Lough Cullaun in the Burren.
There were 14 Whooper Swans near Cullanagh outside Ennistymon.
Another 16 Whooper Swans were at Ballycar Lake, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
A group of 18 Whooper Swans were seen east of Lough Atedaun, Corofin.
One Dipper was at the Falls in Ennistymon.
One Jay and one Raven were at the Leeas Wood Road in Ennis.
Two Peregrines and two Ravens were at the Cliffs of Moher.

Sunday 4th March 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD was relocated at Lough Atedaun (Geoff Hunt).

Saturday 3rd March 2007
Off the North Clare coast today in Galway Bay and the Rine there
were 42 Black-throated Divers, 50 Black Guillemots, 30 Gannets,
and hundreds of auks.
One Glaucous Gull was seen off the Rine.
One adult Mediterranean Gull was New Quay.
One winter plumaged Red-necked Grebe, one male Velvet Scoter
and eight Long-tailed Ducks were off Doorus on Clare/Galway border.
There were 67 Whooper Swans at Ballygireen.

Friday 2nd March 2007
There was one adult Ring-billed Gull at Quilty.
One Dipper was on the Claureen River near Kilmaley.
 
Thursday 1st March 2007
One male Hen Harrier and a Peregrine were at Donnagore Bog.
A flock of 120 Barnacle Geese were at Mutton Island.
One fisrt-winter Glaucous Gull was at Seafield, Quilty.
There were 72 Whooper Swans at Ballygireen.

The Whooper Swan flock at Balygireen has dropped slightly to 46 birds.
There were 14 Whooper Swans still at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

There were two Jack Snipe at a small wetland area in
the middle of Shannon Town.

Sunday 25th February 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD and drake Green-winged Teal were
both at Lough Atedaun (Tim Griffin).
The female Ring-necked Duck was at Lough Inchiquin (Tim Griffin).
Two first-winter Glaucous Gulls were at Seafield, Quilty
along with 110 Purple Sandpipers and 16 Rock Doves.
One first-winter Glaoucous Gull was at Lough Donnell.
Two male Hen Harriers, one Merlin and two Jack Snipe
were at Dunagoor Bog near the Cliffs of Moher.
One Peregrine was at Liscannor.
One female Scaup was at the Shannon Airport Lagoon.
A flock of 14 Whooper Swans and1200 Golden Plover were at 
Islandavanna, Clarecastle.
The Whooper Swans at Ballygireen number 60 today ane 14 Whooper
Swans were stil at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
Two Ravens were seen near Darragh. 

Saturday 24th February 2007
Today at Seafield, Quilty there were two first-winter Glaucous Gulls
and one second-winter Iceland Gull.
There was one adult Iceland Gull at Lough Donnell.
A flock of 45 Brent Gesse and two Little Egrets were at the bridge
in Lahinch Marsh.
Four Greylag Geese and one Water Rail were at Fenloe Lake,
Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Friday 23rd February 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD was at Lough Atedaun today (Barry Howell).
There were two Green Sandpipers at Ballycorick Bridge, near Ballynacally.
One Dipper was on the Claureen River near Kilmaley.
One Little Egret was at Blackweir Bridge, Poulnasherry Bay. 

Thursday 22nd February 2007
There was a male Goshawk near Darragh this afternoon (Barry O' Donoghue).
A male bird was also seen near Inagh a couple of weeks ago, possibly the
same individual.
One eclipsed drake and one female  Ring-necked Duck were at Ballyallia
Lake (Finbarr MacGabhann).
There was one second-winter Iceland Gull at Quilty. 
Two Greylag Geese and 14 Whooper Swans were at Ballycar Lake,
Newmarket-on-Fergus.
One Dipper was on the Claureen River near Kilmaley.

Wednesday 21st February 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD was still at Lough Aredaun (John N Murphy & Andy Smith).
The Ring-necked Duck hen was also atill at Lough Inchiquin (John N Murphy & Andy Smith).
A flock of 22 White-fronted Geese were at Tubber and one Long-tailed Duck was found
inland on Lough Cullaun in the Burren.
The flock of 14 Whooper Swans was at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
One Dipper was at the Falls at Ennistymon.
One Little Egret was at Lahinch Marsh.

Tuesday 20th February 2007
There were two 1st-winter Iceland Gulls and two Long-tailed Ducks
at Liscannor. Two Little Egrets were at Lahich Marsh.
The Albino Great Northern Diver was at Black Head.  
There were 74 Whooper Swans at Ballygireen today.
One male Blackcap was at Oak Park, Ennis this afternoon.
One Dipper was on the Claureen River, near Kilmaley

Two Black-throated Dibvers and one Little Egret wer at the
Rine, Ballyvaughan.
There were 20 Whooper Swans and 15 White-fronted Geese
at Tullagher Bog today.
A flock of 14 Whooper Swans were at Ballycar Lake, Newmarket-on Fergus.

One female Ring-necked Duck was at Lough Inchiquin (John Wright).

The female BUFFLEHEAD was once again at Lough Atedaun.
Two first-winter Iceland Gulls were at Lahinch Marsh.
One Brambling was at Cullaunysheeda Lake.
One Little Egret was one mudflats near Inishcullen Hill, Shannon.

Friday 9th February 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD is still at Lough Atedaun (Stan Nugent & Andy Clifton).
One female Ring-necked Duck was at Lough Inchiquin and one drake
Ring-necked Duck is at Ballyallia Lake (Stan Nugent).
The second winter male Marsh Marrier was seen crossing the main Corofin/
Ennis road just south of Corofin (Stan Nugent).

Thursday 8th February 2007
A Marsh Harrier was seen flying from the Lees Wood Road, Ennis in the
direction of Ballyallia Lake as it was mobbed by smaller passerines (Tom Lynch).
There was also one Jay in the Lees Road Wood.

There were two 1st-winter and one 2nd-winter Glaucous Gulls
at Seafield, Quilty.
One Peregrine was at Ing, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Tuesday 6th February 2007
There were four Snow Buntings, one 1st-winter Iceland Gull and one Sandwich Tern,
all on the Rine, Ballyvaughan.
There were 90 Brent Geese at Lough Murree with one albino Curlew at Lough Bunny.
One male Blackcap was at Ballyallia Lake.

Monday 5th February 2007
The female  BUFFLEHEAD was at Lough Atedaun (Christy Meehan et al).
The female Ring-necked Duck was also still on Lough Inchiquin (Christy Meehan et al).
The female Black Redstart was seen near Kilkee Golf Club earlier today.
One male Blackcap was at Oak Park, in Ennis.
The eight Yellowhammers are now visiting several gardens at Barefield.

Female BUFFLEHEAD still at Lough Atedaun (Seán Ronayne & Tom Cuffe).
Over 20 Black-throated Divers were off the Rine, Ballyvaughan.
One Short-eared Owl was at Tullagher Bog.

There was one Green Sandpiper on the Fergus River near the back of Willow
Park Ennis.

Friday 2nd February 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD has taken up residency at Lough Atedaun (John Rattigan).
Over 50 Black-throated Divers, 16 Long-tailed Ducks, 65 Common Scoter, one 1st-winter
Iceland Gull, one Little Egret and 20 Grey Plover were at the Rine, Ballyvaughan.
There were four Jays at the Lees Road Wood in Ennis.

Thursday 1st February 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD is still at Lough Atedaun along with
19 Whooper Swans and the neck banded bird (John Rattigan, Killian Mullarney
& Paul Archer).
One female Ring-necked Duck and 13 Gadwall were at Lough
Inchiquin (John Rattigan).
Two drake and one hen Ring-necked Ducks were at Ballyallia Lake this
afternoon along with one male Marsh Harrier (Finbarr MacGabhann).
A Green Sandpiper and one Grey Wagtail were at Ballycorick Bridge.
One Dipper and two Grey Wagtails were at the Falls at Clondaged,
on the Owenslieve River.

Eight Yellowhammers were back at Ballycarroll, Barefield.

Tuesday 30th January 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD was still at Lough Atedaun (Finbarr MacGabhann),
along with 12 Whooper Swans one of which was wearing a yellow coloured
neck collar with inscription N1.
The female Ring-necked Duck was at Lough Inchiquin (Finbarr MacGabhann).
One female Marsh Harrier was at Corofin late in the afternoon.
There was one adult and two first-winter Iceland Gulls, plus 31 Brent Geese
at Creg beach, Lahinch.
One female Blackcap was at Ballymacaula, Ennis.

The female BUFFLEHEAD was still at Lough Atedaun (Ed Carty & John Rattigan).
One female Ring-necked Duck was at Lough Inchiquin (Ed Carty).
A small flock of 14 Whooper Swans were at Ballycar Lake, Newmarket-on-Fergus. 

Sunday 28th January 2007
One Glaucous Gull was at Lough Donnell, with another at Doonbeg and a third at
Kilbaha. One adult Mediterranean Gull was at Quilty.
One Little Egret was at Kildysart.

Saturday 27th January 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD was still at Lough Atedaun (Richard Bonser, Jimmy Dowdall
and Aidan Kelly).  There was also a drake Green-winged Teal (Jimmy Dowdall & Aidan Kelly). 
A flock of 99 Whooper Swans were at Ballygireen with another 22 birds near Clenagh Bay.

One adult and one 1st-winter Iceland Gull were at Seafield,
Quilty along with one 1st-winter Glaucous Gull.
One Dipper was at the Claureen River near Kilmaley.

Thursday 25th January 2007
One male Blackcap was at Oak Park, Ennis.

Wednesday 24th January 2007
There were 50 Red-throated Divers and two Long-tailed Duck at Liscannor Bay.
One Dipper was on the Claureen River near Kilmaley.

The female BUFFLEHEAD was at Lough Atedaun again today (John N Murphy).
One female Ring-neck-Duck was at Lough Inchiquin (John N Murphy).
There were 32 Red-throated Divers and two Long-tailed Ducks on Liscannor Bay.
One Dipper was on the Claureen River near Kilmaley.

Monday 22nd January 2007
There were four Iceland Gulls at Lahinch Marsh (two 1st-winters and two adults).
One Little Egret, one 1st-winter Iceland Gull, one Chiffchaff  and one Jack Snipe
were at Liscannor. 

Sunday 21st January 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD was once again at Lough Atedaun
(Andre Robinson & Stephen McAvoy).
One Grey Phalarope was off Bishops Quarter near Ballyvauighan.
Also present off Bishops Quarter were four Black-throated Divers,
15 Great Northern Divers and five Gannets.
There were five Iceland Gulls at Lahinch Marsh along side the
six Pink-footed Geese and one Little Egret. One 2nd-winter Little
Gull, two Long-tailed Ducks and a Peregrine were at Liscannor.

There was one Pink-footed Goose near Clooney.

Friday 19th January 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD is still at Lough Atedaun (Stan Nugent).
The six Pink-footed Geese and one Little Egret were at Lahinch Marsh.
Three Grey Phalaropes , one Little Gull, one Chiffchaff
and a Long-tailed Duck were at Liscannor.
One adult Glaucous Gull was at Clahane, Liscannor.
Ten Snow Buntings were at George's Head, Kilkee.
One Little Egret was at Moyasta with two more at Blackweir Bridge,
Poulnasherry Bay.
A flock of 16 Whooper Swans were at Ballycar Lough.

Thursday 18th Januruay 2007
At Liscannor there was one Grey Phalarope, one Little Gull
and one adult Iceland Gul.
One Little Egret and a flock of 117 Curlew were at Blackweir Bridge.

A colour ringed Brent Goose was read by Dave McNamara on the Rine,
in Ballyvaughan (M21171006) with the following combination
LEFT LEG a White Band with AAA
RIGHT LEG a White band with CCC
this bird was also present on Saturday 13th January.

Wednesday 17th January 2007
One drake Ring-necked Duck was at Ballyallia Lake
(John N Murphy & David Lyons).
One second-winter Little Gull, one adult Mediterranean Gull
one adult Iceland, Gull and one Grey Phalarope were all at
Liscannor today.

Tuesday 16th January 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD was at Lough Atedaun (Sean Cronin).
The fisrt-winter drake Ring-necked Duck returned to Lough Inchiquin
(Meave Meehan & Iza Zawadzka).  
Two Grey Phalaropes were seen off Liscannor this morning.

There was a Kittiwake at the quay in Clarecastle.
A flock of 16 Greylag Geese were at Ballycar Lake, Newmarket-on-Fergus.  

Sunday 14th January 2007
There were six Snow Buntings at Georges Head, Kilkee.
Ten Whooper Swans were at Ballycar Lake, Newmarket-on-Fergus. 

Saturday 13th January 2007
The BUFFLEHEAD was at Lough Atedaun today (Brian Haslam).
One Grey Phalarope and three Little Gulls were at Liscannor.
One first-winter Glaucous Gull was at Lough Donnell.
100 Purple Sandpipers were at Seafield, Quilty.
One adult Glaucous Gull was at Carrigaholt.
One juvenile Litte Gull was in Kilbaha Harbour, Loop Head.
Over 90 Barnacle Geese were at Doonbeg.
One Little Egret and a first-winter Iceland Gull was
at the causeway near Doorus on Clare/Galway border.
One Little Egret was at Moyasta, Poulnasherry Bay.
One Dipper was on the Claureen River near Kilmaley.

The female BUFFLEHEAD was at Lough Atedaun around lunchtime
today (John N Murphy & John Rattigan).
Six Pink-footed Geese were at Lahinch Marsh.

Thursday 11th January 2007
There was one Grey Phalarope, four Little Gulls one 2nd-winter
Iceland Gull and two Little Egrets at Liscannor.
The six-pink-footed Geese were once again at Lahinch Marsh.
No information has come in about the Bufflehead, due to the
fact that no one as been at Lough Atedaun because of the
adverse waether. 

Tuesday 9th January 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD is still at Lough Atedaun (Pat Brennan & Stan Nugent).
One Grey Phalarope was in the harbour at Liscannor.
Two male Blackcaps are showing up regularly at a garden in Barefield.

Monday 8th January 2007
The female BUFFLEHEAD was seen close to the slipway at
Lough Atedaun this morning (Dave McNamara).
Two Grey Phalaropes and seven Little Gulls were feeding
along the shore at Liscannor this morning. 
The six Pink-footed Geese were at Lahinch Marsh. 
Eight Yellowhammers were found feeding on a driveway at
Ballycarroll, Barefield.

The female BUFFLEHEAD was showing well this morning at Lough Atedaun,
Corofin (John N Murphy et al).

The drake Green-winged Teal was at Bell Harbour this afternoon (Brian Lynch).
The second-winter Glaucous Gull was still on the Rine in Ballyvaughan.
Nine Little Gulls and two Little Egrets were at Liscannor.
The six Pink-footed Geese were back at Lahinch Marsh.
One Common Sandpiper was at the Quay in Clarecastle.
Seven Greylag Geese were at Fenloe Lake, Newmarket-on-Fergus.


Saturday 6th January 2007
A female BUFFLEHEAD was found at Lough Atedaun, Corofin late
this afternoon (John N Murphy & Finbarr MacGabhann)(Tom & Nuala Lynch).
This is only the second  Irish record.
There were four Snow Buntings and one second-winter Glaucous Gull at
the Rine, Ballyvaughan.
One Merlin was at Fanore. 
At Liscannor there were four Grey Phalaropes, ten Little Gulls, one first-winter
and one second-winter Iceland Gulls and two Little Egrets.
One female Ring-necked Duck was at Lough Inchiquin, Corofin (John N Murphy
& Finbarr MacGabhann).
The two drakes and one female Ring-necked Ducks were still at Ballyallia
Lake, Ennis (John N Murphy & Finbarr MacGabhann). 
A small flock of 26 Whoopers Swans were at Drumcliff, Ballyallia Lake.

Friday 5th January 2007
One male Blackcap was at Our Lady's Hospital, Ennis.
The two males and one female Ring-necked Ducks were at
 Ballyallia Lake again this morning.
The Carrion Crow was at Lahinch Marsh along with one
Little Egret and the six Pink-footed Geese.
Fifteen Little Gulls were in Liscannor still feeding along the
tide line. One Chiffchaff, one second-winter Mediterranean Gull
and one first-winter Iceland Gull were aslo at Liscannor.

Thursday 4th January 2007
Three Ring-necked Ducks were at Ballyallia Lake (Finbarr MacGabhann),
(one female, one adult male and one first-winter male).
One male Blackcap was also at Ballyallia Lake.
There was a small flock of six Pink-footed Geese at Lahinch Marsh this morning.
Over 15 Little Gulls (one first-winter, two second-winters and 12 adults)
were at Liscannor this afternoon along with one first-winter and one
second-winter Iceland Gulls.
One Carrion Crow was near the pier at Liscannor.

Wednesday 3rd January 2007
The female Marsh Harrier was back at Ballyallia Lake along
with one first-winter drake Ring-necked Duck (Dave Mcnamara).
A flock of 12 Little Gulls and one first-winter Iceland Gull were at
Liscannor.
One adult Little Gull was at Moneypoint.
A small flock of Greylag Geese were at Ballycar Lake.

Tuesday 2nd January 2007
Six Little Gulls plus one second-winter Mediterranean
Gull were at Liscannor.
One first-winter and one second-winter Iceland Gulls
were a Lahinch Marsh.
Two Greylag Geese were at Ballycar Lake.

Monday 1st January 2007
There were six adult Little Gulls at Liscannor today.
Two first-winter Little Gulls were in Kilbaha Harbour.
One second-winter Little Gull was at Bridges of Ross.

Five Greylag Geese were at Ballycar Lake, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
One Brambling was amongst a flock of over 100 Chaffinches
at Fenloe lake.

Sunday 31st December 2006
One adult Little Gull was at Liscannor.
There were five Snow Buntings and 27 Brent Geese
on the Rine in Ballyvaughan.

Saturday 30th December 2006
There were two Grey Phalaropes at Kilkee today.
One adult Little Gull was at Quilty.  One second-winter
Mediterranean Gull and two Peregrines were at Liscannor.
Six Greylag Geese were at Ballycar Lake, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Friday 29th December 2006
One first-winter Iceland Gull was at Castle Point near Kilkee.
Three first winter Little Gulls were in Kilbaha Harbour along
with one first-winter Mediterannean Gull and one adult
Glaucous Gull.
One Bonxie was off the Bridges of Ross.
One first winter Mediterranean Gull was at Kilkee.
Two Little Gulls were at Liscannor Pier.
One Merlin was near Tullagher Bog with another at Loop Head.

Wednesday 27th December 2006
One second-winter Ring-billed Gull was at Quilty.
Twenty Five Barnacle Geese were on Mutton Island.
One first-winter Iceland Gull was at Castle Point near Kilkee.
One first-winter Little Gull, 16 B rent Geese, ten Red-throated Divers
and one male Hen Harrier were at Liscannor.
There was a small flock of 30 Whooper Swans at Ballycar Lough.
There were eight Whooper Swans and one Peregrine at Lough Donnell.

Tuesday 26th December 2006
One Red-necked Grebe was seen off Doorus today on the Clare/
Galway border (Dave McNamara).
Two Ring-necked Ducks were at Lough Inchiquin, Corofin
( Maeve & Christy Meehan). One was a female and the other an eclipsed drake.
There was also seven Bewick's Swans.
There were four Black-throated Divers between Fanore and Ballyvaughan.
One Little Egret was at Lahinch Marsh.
One Water Rail was at Fenloe Lake.

Monday 25th December 2006
One Green Sandpiper was at the Falls, Ennistymon. 
Two Common Sandpipers were at O'Brien's Bridge.

Sunday 24th December 2006
There were four 1st-winter Little Gulls at Kilbaha Harbour.
A flock of 90 Barnacle Geese and one Merlin were at
Illaononearaun.
Two Dippers and one Green Sandpiper were at the
Bridge near Blackweir, Dromoland on the Rine River.
One Dipper was at the Claureen River in Kilmaley.

Saturday 23rd December 2006
One Red-necked Grebe, three Long-tailed Duck and an
adult Mediterranean Gull were at Doorus Pier on the Clare/
Galway border (Dave McNamara).
A flock of 50 Barnacle Geese were on Mutton Island. 
Two Tree Sparrows were near Quilty.

Friday 22nd December 2006
Eighty Barnacle Geese were on Illaunonearaun along with
a second winter Iceland Gull.
At Doughmore there was a second winter Glaucous Gull and
one Peregrine.

Thursday 21st December 2006
The drake Ring-necked Duck was at Ballyallia Lake (Finbarr MacGabhainn).
One Dipper was on the Claureen River in Kilmaley.

Monday 18th December 2006
One Iceland Gull was at Liscannor. 

Sunday 17th December 2006
There were two Spotted Redshanks at Liscannor.
One female Blackcap was at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Friday 15th December 2006
There were two Jays and a Merlin, on the Lees Wood Road, Ennis.

There were three Snow Buntings, 150 Brent Geese and two
Black-throated Divers along the Rine in Ballyvaughan.
One Grey Phalarope was off the pier in Liscannor.

Tuesday 12th December 2006
There were two Grey Phalaropes at Liscannor Bay today.
One Merlin, one Peregrine and one male Hen Harrier were
at Lahinch Marsh.

Sunday 10th December 2006
The male and female Ring-necked Ducks were
at Ballyallia Lake (John N Murphy, Tom Lynch &
Finbarr MacGabhann).

Saturday 9th December 2006
One juvenile Little Gull was at Liscannor.

Friday 8th December 2006
At the Bridges of Ross there was on Little Auk,
three Bonxies and one 2nd -winter Iceland Gull.
One Water Rail was calling at Ballycar Lake.

Wednesday 6th December 2006
Off the Bridges of Ross today there were; seven Bonxie's,
three Grey Phalaropes and 25 Leach's Petrels.
Two Jays were at the Lees Wood Road this afternoon. 

Sunday 3rd December 2006
One Leach's Petrel was seen flying inland at Clahane Beach,
Liscannor Bay.

Saturday 2nd December 2006
There was one Leach's Petrel at Liscannor.
Another Leach's Petrel was at the Rine, Ballyvaughan with
four more near Doorus, North Clare/Galway border.
The drake Green-winged Teal was at Bell Harbour (Finbarr MacGabhann).
One Little Egret was at Lough Murree.
Ten Black-throated Divers were near New Quay.
One Grey Phalarope was at Quilty along with one  Iceland Gull.

The male and female Ring-necked Ducks were at Ballyallia
Lake earlier today (Dave McNamara).

The Pink-footed Goose was still with a flock of 18 Whooper
Swans at Keevagh on the Ennis side of Quin village this morning.

The Pink-footed Goose was still at Keevagh outside Quin today.

Tuesday 28th November 2006
A female Ring-necked Duck was at Ballyallia Lake (John N Murphy &
Barry O'Donoghue).
One Pink-footed Goose was at Keevagh on a flooded field, the Ennis
side of Quin within a flock of Whooper Swans.

Monday 27th November 2006
One female Marsh Harrier was at Ballyallia Lake (Dave McNamara)
along with 20 Pintail.
Two Jays were seen in territorial battle along the Lees Wod Road, Ennis.

Saturday 25th November 2006
Five Black-throated Divers, three Long-tailed Ducks,
17 Black Guillemots and 35 Common Scoter were at
the Flaggy Shore today.
A small flock of 60 Woodpigeons were at Fenloe Lake.

Friday 24th November 2006
One male Ring-necked Duck and a Marsh Harrier were at
Ballyallia Lake today (Finbarr MacGabhann), along with one
Peregrine.

Tuesday 21st November 2006
One Jay was at the Lees Wood Road again today.

There was one first winter Marsh Harrier at Bunnow Marsh near,
Doora this morning (John N Murphy).
One Water Rail was calling at Ballycar Lake, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
One Jay was on the Lees Wood Road.

Six Greylag Geese flew over Sixmilbridge this morning.

One Short-eared Owl was seen hunting near the Cliffs of Moher.
Over 70 Purple Sandpipers and one Glaucous Gull were on the
beach at Seafield, Quilty.

One Little Egret was at Doonbeg Bay.

Thursday 9th November 2006
A flock of 200 Woodpigeons were in the beech trees at Ballyallia
Lake this afternoon with over 70 Tufted duck on the main lake.
One Blackcap was seen near Knockhogan. There were 20 Purple
Sandpipers at Seafield and one Green Sandpiper at Doonbeg.
 
Wednesday 8th November 2006
One Raven flew over Applewood, Ballycar and two Water Rails
were calling at Ballycar Lake, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

Monday 6th November 2006
One Yellow-browed Warbler was at Kilbaha, Loop Head.
One male Blackcap was at Ballymacahill, Ennis.
There were six Whooper Swans at Ballyallia Lake today. 

Sunday 5th November 2006
The female Marsh Harrier was once again at Ballyallia Lake (Dave McNamara).
One Hen Harrier was at Lough Donnell.  Eight Little Egrets were at Aughinish
Island in North Clare.  Two Water Rails were at Ballycar Lake, Newmarket-on-Fergus. 

Saturday 4th November 2006
Today at Loop Head there were two Hen Harriers, four Merlin,
one Peregrine, five Blackcaps, two Chiffchaff, one Jack Snipe,
one Red-throated Diver, 125 Golden Plover, three Brent Geese
and one Minke Whale.
In north Clare between Traught beach and Black Head there
were 17 Black-throated Divers and one Hen Harrier flew in off
the sea near Black Head.
There were nine Little Egrets at Moyasta, Poulnasherry Bay.
Four Whooper Swans were at Moanmore, Tullagher Bog.

Friday 3rd November 2006
There were two Black-throated Divers off Fanore. 
A small flock of 15 Whooper Swans and two Greyag Geese
w ere at Islandavanna. 
There weres lots of Fieldfares and Lapwing on the move
today with 26 Fieldfares at Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus
this morning and a flock of 60 at IslandMcGrath, Clarecastle.

Thursday 2nd November 2006
There was a Slavonian Grebe off the coast road near Fanore (Barry O' Donoghue)
