A Great White Egret was seen flying southwards from Ringmoylan Quay again today (Tom Tarpey).

Two Great Spotted Woodpeckers ( adult & juvenile) were seen in a private garden at Doon (Irish Birding, Paul Dillon).

There were three pairs of Gadwall with at least six ducklings and five singing Reed Warbler at Shannon Airport Lagoon this morning.(John N Murphy)

A Great White Egret was seen near Ringmoylan Quay (Seán Doyle).

Two Great Spotted Woodpeckers were seen in a private garden at Doon (Irish Birding, Paul Dillon).

A Whitethroat was at Moig, Askeaton (Clodagh Glasgow)

A Spotted Flycatcher was near Coolcappagh (Tom Tarpey).

Juvenile Long-eared Owls were heard calling in the Corbally area (Brian McClure).


Monday 9th June 2025

Six Reed Warblers, 67 Gadwall and five Black-tailed Godwits were at Coonagh (Tom Tarpey).

A Reed Warbler, a drake Gadwall and two Water Rails were at Westfields (Sean Whelan).

A male Great Spotted Woodpecker was seen feeding a juvenile from a peanut feeder in a private garden in Corbally (Joan Conran).


Saturday 7th June 2025

At the joint Clare and Limerick Branch outing to Loop Head great views of breeding Common Guillemot, Kittiwake, Razorbill, Fulmar, Shag, Herring Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Rock Dove, Chough, Ringed Plover, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Rock Pipit and Wheatear were enjoyed along with passing Gannet and Manx Shearwater. A flock of over 200 Manx Shearwater were feeding off Cloughaun Lough at 1.30p.m.(Sean and Peter Whelan)

A Buzzard and a Common Sandpiper were at Lough Muckanagh.(Maura Crowe)

There were over 5000 Manx Shearwater streaming west past Ross Ringing Station in one hour this afternoon, along with one male Peregrine.(John N Murphy)
