One Great Shearwater was off Ross Ringing Station this afternoon. This is an unusual winter record and non have been recorded here before this late in the season or early new year. (John N Murphy)

Around Aughinish today there were 11 Long-tailed Ducks, 14 Common Scoter, 160 Golden Plover, five Mediterranean Gulls and one Chiffchaff. There were 37 Whoopers across Coranroo Bay in a field at Munnia. (Paul Troake)

Male Ruff at Lough Atedaun John N Murphy

One Ruff and a Kingfisher were at Lough Atedaun just west of the car park. (John N Murphy)

A juvenile White-tailed Eagle was at Lough Atedaun and Lough Cullaun. A Buzzard was also at Lough Cullaun.(Maura Crowe)

A Tree Sparrow was seen near Ballyhahill (Michael O’Clery). This is the first report of this former resident species in Limerick since the early 1980’s.
