Clare Bird Sightings

A seawatch at the Bridges of Ross between 06.15-18.45 produced one Balearic Shearwater, 182 Cory’s Shearwater, 28 Great Shearwater, 36 Sooty Shearwater, 9500 Manx Shearwater, three Wilson’s Storm-petrel,(one on show, close to shore for over half an hour), 41 Leach’s Storm-petrel, 25 Storm-petrel, 129 Sabine’s Gull(including 26 juveniles), one Little Gull(1cy) 40 Long-tailed Skua, 6 Pomarine Skua(light morph adults), 37 Arctic Skua(26 dark/5 light/6 jugs), 4 Great Skua, one juvenile Black Tern, over 160 Arctic Tern, three Common Tern, over 110 Sandwich Tern, nine Grey Phalarope, two Common Scoter and 21 Whimbrel.(Noel Keogh plus 18 observers)

There were three juvenile Sabine’s Gull, one Mediterranean Gull, two Common Tern and 30 Bar-tailed Godwit at Quilty Beach.(Jeff Copner)
