A juvenile Marsh Harrier was hunting the reedbeds at Muckinish Point, Cooperhill, Mungret on the southern shore of the Shannon Estuary (Gerry Murphy).

A female Marsh Harrier was at Coonagh along with a drake Garganey, 109 Gadwall, 52 Shoveler, 15 Teal, eight Mallard and 14 Tufted Duck (TT).

The highlights from a well attended joint Clare/Limerick Birdwatch Ireland outing this morning were five White-tailed Eagle at Tarbert, a Yellow-legged Gull at Loughill and a Common Sandpiper and Kingfisher at Robertstown Creek.

Ten Sandwich Terns were at Glin (John N Murphy).
A Barn Owl was near Kilmeedy (Andrew Holmes).

Tuesday 10th September 2024

A Barn Owl was calling at Clashganniff, Shanagolden (Clodagh Glasgow).
A Chiffchaff was in song at Fedamore (TT).
