A Short-eared Owl was seen at the Coonagh Nature Reserve today. This is a first record for the site. The bird was seen hunting over the rough grass and rushy areas around the lower lagoon on two occasions in the early afternoon. A Peregrine Falcon, five Whooper Swans, 25 Gadwall, 23 Shoveler, six Snipe and a Little Egret were also seen (Tom Tarpey, Phil Symonds et al.)
A Little Egret was seen near Kilteely(Tony Mee).
