At the Dawn Chorus outing this morning four Common Sandpiper were at Lough Gealán, three Little Egret were at Knockaunroe Turlough and six Cuckoo were heard.(Austin Cooney, Nuala and Tom Lynch et al)
Two Pomerine Skuas were seen flying eastwards at Tarbert Bay today (Geoff Hunt). Skuas are rarely seen in Limerick and the last record for this species dates back to the early 1980’s.
Eight Swifts were at Ballingarry (Andrew Holmes).
Eighteen Purple Sandpiper and 15 Whimbrel were at Clounahinchy.(Jeff Copner)
Thirty Whimbrel were in a field near the West End, Kilkee with 20 more at the Pollock Holes.(Mary Fallon)
