One drake American Wigeon was at Lough Atedaun this afternoon.(John N Murphy, Austin Cooney & Finbarr MacGabhann). This is the 7th county record of this rare north American duck to Clare.
There were two drake Surf Scoters off Coolsiva Pier in north Clare today (JNM, FMacG & AC), along with two Sandwich Terns, two Whimbrel at the Flaggy Shore, 14 Black-throared Divers, 80 Great Northern Divers, four Long-tailed Ducks and 45 Common Scoter.
Two Buzzards were near Tubber. (AC, FMacG & JNM).

This 2CY Glaucous Gull was at Quilty John N Murphy
There was one Pink-footed Goose within the flock of 17 White-fronted Geese at Tullagher Bog. (John N Murphy & Finbarr MacGabhann)
Two Tree Sparrows were at Doonbeg. (FMacG & JNM)
There were 250 Barnacle Geese on Mutton Island with one 2CY Glaucous Gull at nearby Quilty Beach and a Peregrine. (JNM & FMaG)
Three Greater Scaup were at Clonderlaw Bay with hundreds of Teal and Gulls. (FMacG & JNM)
One Kingfisher and a Dipper were in the harbour at Kilrush Creek. (JNM & FMacG)

One distant female Marsh Harrier west of the Shannon Airport Lagoon near Rineanna Point going north up the Fergus Estuary. (John N Murphy)
