At the Bridges of Ross today there were seven Sooty Shearwaters, four Storm Petrels, seven Arctic Skuas, five Bonxies, 34 Sandwich Terns, nine Whimbrel and a Peregrine. (Neal Warnock)

At the Bridges of Ross today there were 34 Sooty Shearwaters, two Arctic Skuas, two Bonxies, 18 Storm Petrels four Grey Phalaropes, seven Sandwich Terns and 26 Whimbrel. (Neal Warnock, Keith Langdon et al)


Sunday 18th August 2019

A drake Garganey, 22 Gadwall, six Mallard, seven Pochard, 26 Tufted Duck, 210 Coot and six Swifts were at Coonagh (TT).

Saturday 17th August 2019

At the Bridges of Ross today there was one Fea’s Petrel (09.13-09.19),(John N Murphy, Keith Langdon et al), along with six Cory’s Shearwaters, 71 Great Shearwaters, 274 Sooty Shearwaters, two Pomarine Skuas, six Arctic Skuas, six Bonxies, 38 Storm Petrels, four Arctic Terns, five Sandwich Terns, 14 Whimbrel and a Merlin.

Thursday 15th August 2019

The Bonaparte’s Gull was at Clahane, Liscannor this evening. (Geoff Pearson)
An immature Whinchat was at the Fodry, Loop Head this afternoon. (GP)
One Sooty Shearwater, one Arctic Skua, one Great Skua, 21 Storm Petrel, a Red-throated Diver, 11 Sandwich Tern and 25 Whimbrel were at the Bridges oh Ross.(Keith Langton & GP, 17.45-19.15)

A four hour sea watch at the Bridges of Ross today produced two Balearic Shearwaters, 500-700 Manx Shearwaters (ph), one Arctic Skua, three Bonxies, 40 Sandwich Terns, six Sanderling and 32 Whimbrel. (John N Murphy)
