Six Sand Martins and a Dipper were at Annacotty Weir (DS)

Up to 30 Sand Martins were at Sarsfield Bridge this evening (Pearse Ryan).


Tuesday 10th March 2026

A Great White Egret was on the Morning Star river at Crean, Bruff (Tom Tarpey). This is the eight County record.

A Sand Martin and a Stock Dove were at Rathcannon (TT).

Two House Martins were at UL (Eabha Hughes).


Sunday 8th March 2026

The continuing Glossy Ibis pair were still at the field adjacent to the City WWTP (Donogh Sweeney).

A Kingfisher was on the Shannon at the Ferry playground, Castleconnell. A Blackcap was in song at the same location (DS).

A male Hawfinch was at Curraghchase (per Rare & Scarce Birds – Wayne Greene-Salm).

A Green Sandpiper was at Clarina (Gerry Murphy).

The continuing adult Iceland Gull was at Howley’s Quay (Donogh Sweeney).

Four House Martins were near the UL Arena (Pearse Ryan).

A male Brambling was present again today in a garden in Monaleen (Tom Tarpey).

A Dipper was at Annacotty (Gearoid Ryan).

Two male Bramblings were in a garden at Monaleen (TT).

A Great Spotted Woodpecker was drumming at Lisnagry. Four Buzzards and a Pergrine were also in the area (Gearoid Ryan).
