The first Swift reports of the year were from Limerick City today, with one at Mulgrave Street in the morning and two at Lord Edward Street in the afternoon.

The Whimbrel spring migration is now in full swing; 55 birds in three seperate flocks were at Coonagh today along with 250 Black-tailed Godwits, four Redshank, a Turnstone, a Snipe, four Little Grebes, a Great-crested Grebe, six pairs of Greylag Geese, six pairs of Mallard, ten Tufted Duck, a male Wigeon and a male Pochard.
Two Cuckoos were at Grouse Lodge, Ardagh.

Four Whimbrel were at Caherline.
A Buzzard was seen flying over the M20 south west of Patrickswell.

A Herring Gull with atypical pale yellow legs was seen at Tarbert (Geoff Hunt).
A Little Egret was seen on the Shannon at the Mill Road, Corbally.
Saturday 14th April 2012
Four Hen Harriers were seen in the Doon area during the Branch Outing. Two Crossbills were also heard in the area.
