A Great White Egret, a Green Sandpiper, a Common Sandpiper and a Greenshank were at fllooded area near Pallasgreen (Paidi Cullinane),

A Firecrest was seen briefly at Coonagh this morning (Tom Tarpey). This is a first record for the site and the second County record.

An immature White-tailed Eagle with a red tag was at Coonagh (Ray Glynn). This bird is most likely a juvenile from the 2025 release at Tarbert Bay.

Two Glossy Ibis were beside the City Wastewater Treatment Plant at Ballykeefe (Gerry Murphy)

Two untagged immature White-tailed Eagles were at Ringmoylan Pier along with 200 Lapwing (John Rutherford).

Six Whooper Swans (2ad + 4juv) were at King’s Island Marsh (TT).

A Barn Owl crossed the N18 near the Coonagh roundabout (James Organ).

A Common Sandpiper was on the Maigue downstream of Croom (Pearse Ryan).

A Great Spotted Woodpecker was seen at Curraghchase during the Limerick BWI Branch Outing (Gearoid Jackson, Maura Turner et al.)

41 Tufted Duck and eight Gadwall were at Westfields (TT).

Black-headed Gull Yellow TLW5 was at the Mill Road, Corbally. It was ringed as an adult in Poland in 2019 and has wintered at the Mill Road, Corbally every year since. It had also been recorded during the breeding season in the Poland in June 2023 and on autumn passage in Holland in August 2020 and September 2023 and also in Kilbaha in October 2023.


Thursday 20th November 2025

154 Wigeon, 31 Gadwall, 22 Teal, 12 Mallard, a Tufted Duck, 33 Greylag Geese, 26 Mute Swans, six Cormorants, and 18 Curlew were at Lough Gur (Tom Tarpey).

16 Whooper Swans were at Camas and five more were at Fedamore (Gerry Murphy & TT).

Three immature White-tailed Eagles, inc. tag nos. 43 and 45, were at Cooperhill, Clarina (ref Gerry Murphy).

Three Whooper Swans were at King’s Island marsh (Tom Tarpey).

165 Dunlin, 48 Redshank, three Greenshank, 19 Snipe, 13 Curlew, 76 Lapwing, five Oystercatchers, 28 Wigeon and 13 Teal were Robertstown (Tom Tarpey).
