Saturday 15th August 2015

A pair of Buzzards and two Water Rails were at Doohyle Lough (Geoff Hunt).

Nine Whimbrel, 39 Redshank, four Greenshank, 105 Curlew,  a Knot, a Little Egret and a Great-crested Grebe were at Loughill. There were 119 Redshank, 18 Greenshank, 46 Curlew and four Little Egrets at the evening high tide roost at Robertstown.

Six Whimbrel, eight Curlew, 21 Redshank, 18 Greeshank, six Knot, 13 Little Egrets, two Great-crested Grebes and two adult Mediterranean Gulls were at Tarbert Bay (Geoff Hunt).

There were two Green Sandpipers, one Wigeon, three Little Egrets and four Swifts at Lough Gash this morning. (John N Murphy)
At the Shannon Airport Lagoon there were two Wigeon, six Whimbrel and one Common Tern, while on the mudflats between the lagoon and Shannon Town to Saint’s Island there were 16 Little Egrets, 650 Black-tailed Godwits and over 500 Black-headed Gulls. (John N Murphy)

At Lough Gash, Newmarket-on-Fergus there was one adult Green Sandpiper, three Little Egrets, 18 Black-tailed Godwits, 500 Mallard, three Tufted Ducks, 80 Little Grebes, 70 Moorhen and 160 Coot. (John N Murphy)
