Between the Bridges of Ross and Ross Loop Head today (6.25-18.25), there was one Wilson’s Petrel (Mikey Hoit et al(10.20-10.28), two Long-tailed Skuas, 270 Great Shearwaters, 13 Cory’s Shearwaters, 600 Sooty Shearwaters, 12,000 Manx Shearwaters, one Blue Fulmar, six adult Sabine’s Gulls, one Leach’s Petrel, 14 Storm Petrels, seven Arctic Skuas, ten Bonxies, 101 Arctic Terns, five Sandwich Terns, six Puffin, two Common Scoter, seven Turnstones, 12 Whimbrel and one large Sun Fish. A juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker was seen near Parteen, confirming successful breeding in the area for the second successive year. An adult female was also seen in the area. (Tiernan Downes)

There were 10 ad-type Sabine’s Gulls, 10 Great Shearwaters,100+ Sooty, Shearwaters,12,000 Manx Shearwaters,12 Euro Storm-petrel, two Arctic Skuas, four Great Skuas, 67 Arctic Terns, 17 Sandwich Terns, one Puffin and 42 Whimbrel at the Bridges of Ross today.(Keith Langdon, Niall Keogh et al)

A Little Ringed Plover, a Pectoral Sandpiper, three Green Sandpipers and two Ruff were at a private site in the south of the County (Davey Farrar).

A 3cy Yellow-legged Gull was at Clancy’s Strand and a juvenile Mediterranean Gull was at O’Callaghan’s Strand (TT).

At Ross, Loop Head this morning there was one Great Shearwater, 18 Sooty Shearwaters, 3,000 Manx Shearwaters (ph), one Storm Petrel, one Puffin, five Sandwich Terns and one Common Tern. (John N Murphy)
