Twenty five Reed Warbler were ringed at Shannon Airport Lagoon bringing the total number of Reed Warbler ringed at the site to 52 so far this year.(Phil Brennan)

One hundred and fifty five Sedge Warbler have been ringed at Shannon Airport Lagoon this year.(PB)

Wednesday 5th August 2026

A Spotted Redshank and three Common Sandpipers were at Loughill along with 63 Curlew, 22 Redshank, eleven Oystercatchers and two Great Crested Grebes (Tom Tarpey).

28 Lapwing, 32 Redshank, five Greenshank, six Curlew and a Common Tern were at Robertstown (TT).

Wednesday 5th August 2026

At Ross Ringing Station this morning (9.00-11.30) there were 12 Cory’s Shearwater, seven Sooty Shearwater, one dark phased Arctic Skua, one Storm Petrel, two Arctic Terns and 15 Sandwich Terns. (John N Murphy)

Two Storm Petrel, 14 Cory’s Shearwater, five Puffin, one Great Shearwater and two Arctic Skua were at the Fodry, Loop Head.(Paul Troake)

Tuesday 4th August 2026

At Ross Ringing Station this morning there were two Wilson’s Petrels, one Cory’s Shearwater, one Sooty Shearwater, 20 Storm Petrels, two Common Scoter, two Whimbrel, one Puffin and a Carrion Crow and three Wheatear on the clifftop. (John N Murphy)
