A Hoopoe was seen in a private garden near Askeaton daily since last Monday (Linda O’Brien). This is the fourth record of the species in the County. The previous records date back to the 19th century, 1965 and January 2010.

A Chiffchaff was in song at Ashbrook, Ennis Road, Limerick.
Eight Gadwall and 11 Wigeon were at the Coonagh Nature Reserve.

A Wood Sandpiper was at the Charleville Lagoons.
A Chiffchaff was singing at Monaleen.
Saturday 6th September 2014
Four Snipe, 20 Lapwing and a Little Egret were at Coonagh during the high tide this evening.
