A family party of five Gadwall was at the Coonagh Nature Reserve this morning. Good numbers of juvenile passerines were also evident including several Sedge Warblers, Willow Warblers and Blackcaps as well as a Grasshopper Warbler, numerous Stonechats, Reed Buntings and Meadow Pipits.

A Common Sandpiper flew passed Coonagh during the high tide this morning. Two roosting Little Egrets and a pair of Gadwall and a Common Tern were also seen at the site.

A wing tagged Buzzard was seen at Glenanaar. The bird was tagged as a nestling in Co. Cork in 2013.
Several Blackcaps were still in song at Currachase this morning. A Spotted Flycatcher was also seen nearby.

A Barn Owl was seen hunting near Newcastle West in the early hours of the morning.
A Long-eared Owl was hit by a passing truck on the N21 at Coolanoran, Newcastle West.

A Cuckoo was heard on Kilmeedy Hill. Another was heard close to Lough Gé above Ashford.

The Glossy Ibis was at the Coonagh Nature Reserve again this morning during the high tide. A pair of Garganey was also present on the lower lagoon along with six Gadwall and two Little Egrets. A Cuckoo was also present.

The Glossy Ibis was seen going to roost at the Coonagh Nature Reserve this evening (Barry Henn). A Cuckoo and a Peregrine Falcon were also present. The Peregrine was hunting a murmurating Starling flock.

A Glossy Ibis was seen at the Coonagh Nature Reserve today(Tom Tarpey) along with five Little Egrets, a drake Gadwall and a pair of Common Terns. The Ibis was feeding and roosting at the spit in the lower lagoon and eventually flew eastwards towards the City.
