A Kingfisher, two Spotted Redshank, 78 Redshank, 22 Greenshank, ten Snipe and 15 Curlew were at Robertstown.
A Common Sandpiper was at Poulaweala Creek.
A Spotted Redshank, 110 Redshank and four Little Egrets were at the old pier in Askeaton.

At least 40 bird species were recorded at Coonagh this morning during the Limerick City Bio-blitz Day. The list included five Gadwall, seven Shoveler, three Wigeon, a Teal, 30 Tufted Duck, eight Mallard, two probable Garganey, a Common Sandpiper, two Redshank, three Snipe, 28 Black-tailed Godwits, 35 Lapwing, a Raven, a Stock Dove and two Water Rails.

A drake Garganey and a pair of Teal were seen at Coonagh this afternoon. A Dunlin, 341 Black-tailed Godwits and 14 Little Egrets were also seen on site during the mid-day high tide.

Monday 12th August 2013

A second winter Black-headed Gull with colour ring White E5XL was seen today at Clancy’s Strand, Limerick. The bird was ringed at a lake on the outskirts of Zoetermeer, 15km east of The Hague, Holland, on May 28th 2012. This is the first report of a colour ringed gull from Holland in Limerick. Previous colour ringed gulls from schemes in Ireland (Mayo), Norway, Great Britain and Germany as well as a metal ringed bird from Sweden have been seen in Limerick in recent years.

A Wood Sandpiper, a Common Sandpiper, a Redshank, three Black-tailed Godwits and a Little Egret were at the Charleville Lagoons today.

Saturday 3rd July 2013

14 Little Egrets, 13 Lapwing and 50 Black-tailed Godwits were at the high tide roost in Coonagh this afternoon. A Dunlin, three Stock Doves, a Gadwall, 13 Tufted Duck, four Pochard, eight Mallard and five Great-crested Grebes were also present at the site.

The first signs of the autumn migration were in evidence at Coonagh today. A flock of 320 Black-tailed Godwits, two Lapwing and a summer plumage Knot were roosting there during the morning high tide. Seven Little Egrets were also present. A Shoveler was also seen on the upper lagoon.
