1 CommentEight Waxwings were at Huntsfield this morning. Two Blackcaps (one male & one female) were also seen in the same area.

The Brambling was seen again today in Monaleen.
120 Tufted Duck, 20 Teal, a drake Scaup and 33 Mute Swans were at Lough Gur.
At least three Waxwings were seen in a garden in Huntsfield, Dooradoyle today.
A Blackcap was also seen in the area. This is the first Blackcap report so far this winter.
A Waxwing was seen in a private garden in Huntsfield, Dooradoyle today. This is the first Limerick report in what is looking like a major eruption of the species into the country. A minor influx occurred locally between December 2010 and March 2011, however the last major influx into the County occurred in February 2005.

The 3rd winter Yellow-legged Gull was at Thomond Weir agian today.
Black-headed Gull Yellow 208P was at Bishop’s Quay. This 2007 born Lough Mask bird is spending its fifth consecutive winter in Limerick.
