Tuesday 12th January 2016

A Chiffchaff showing characteristics of Siberian Chiffchaff was seen at the Corcanree Industrial Estate today (Irish Birding/Dave McGrath). See photo on Irishbirding.com.
Two Short-eared Owls were seen near Courtmatrix, Rathkeale today (Pat Fitzgerald).

A Green Sandpiper was seen at Shanagolden (Andrew Holmes).

Tuesday 12th January 2016

The two GLOSSY IBIS’S were at Lahinch Marsh this afternoon (John N Murphy & Dave McNamara), along with four Little Egrets, one male Peregrine and one female Hen Harrier.
One Chiffchaff was at the Falls, Ennistymon. (John N Murphy)

Two GLOSSY IBIS’S were at Lahinch Marsh along with one Peregrine, 60 Lapwing and 60 Curlew. (Dave McNamara)
One Common Sandpiper was at Clarecastle Quay. (Finbarr MacGabhann)
One hundred and fifty Lapwing, 60 Wigeon, 46 Tufted Duck, 30 Curlew, 28 Teal, 16 Little Grebe and 8 Cormorant were at Ballyallia.(Nuala and Tom Lynch)

Sunday 10th January 2016

A Goldeneye, a Pochard, seven Tufted Duck, six Gadwall, four Teal, 59 Coot, 12 Little Grebes, 24 Mute Swans and four Snipe were at Coonagh.
20 Wigeon, 15 Tufted Duck and six Mallard were in Flooded fields near the Mill Road, Corbally.
100 Lapwing were at St. Thomas’s Island, Corbally.

The two GLOSSY IBIS’S were at Lahinch Marsh along with one female Hen Harrier, one Merlin, 31 Brent Geese, 100 Teal, 50 Curlew and an Otter. (Dave McNamara)
There were two Long-tailed Ducks, four Goldeneye, 20 Tufted Duck, 85 Greylag Geese and an Otter at Fenloe Lake, Newmarket-on-Fergus. (John N Murphy)

Saturday 9th January 2016

There was a drake Surf Scoter and 25 Black-throated Divers between Bishop’s Quarter and Finvarra Point. (John N Murphy & Finbarr MacGabhann)
At Corronroo Bay there was one Fortser’s Tern, two Sandwich Terns and two Mediterranean Gulls. (John N Murphy & Finbarr MacGabhann)
Also in North Clare between Ballyvaughan and Aughinish there were 220 Brent Geese, nine Little Egret, 60 Great Northern Divers, four Red-throated Divers, 30 Common Scoter, 50 Red-breasted Mergansers, 60 Shellduck, 200 Teal, 300 Wigeon, 50 Bar-tailed Godwits, 20 Grey Plover, 30 Razorbill, ten Guillemot, 20 Black Guillemot, six Gannet, 500 Common Gull and an additional two Sandwich Terns were off the Martelloe Tower at Aughinsh. At Lough Inchiquin there were three Woodcock at Clifden Hill and a Jay, while on the lake there were 14 Gadwall, two Little Egrets and a Water Rail. (Finbarr macGabhann & John N Murphy)

Two GLOSSY IBIS’S were at Lahinch Marsh this afternoon. (Dave McNamara) Also at Lahinch Marsh were 27 Brent Geese, one Kingfisher, two Water Rails, 76 Curlew, 100 Lapwing, 150 Teal and three Little Egrets.
There was one Common Sandpiper at the slipway in Clarecastle Quay. (John N Murphy)
There were 35 Whooper Swans at Ballycar Lough. (John N Murphy)
