Two first winter Iceland Gulls were at the quays in Limerick City (Maura Turner and Tom Tarpey).
A Blackcap was in a garden at Westfields (Una Hogan).
A Barn Owl was at Ballyphilip, Croom (TT).

An adult Iceland Gull, four Black-throated Diver and a Herring Gull with a blue leg tag were at Fanore Beach. (Paidi Cullinan)

24 Waxwings were feeding on a cotoneaster bush on the boundary wall between Childers Road and Oakview Drive in Ballinacurra this afternoon (Maura Turner & Tom Tarpey).
The 1st winter Yellow-legged Gull was seen again for the first time in two weeks at Harvey’s Quay. Three 1st winter Iceland Gulls were also seen in the City(Geoff Hunt).
Black-headed Gull Yellow 208P, originally ringed as a nestling at Lough Mask in June 2007 and now in its eleventh year, was also seen at Harvey’s Quay.

Thursday 9th February 2017

A flock of 24 Waxwings was seen on the trees at the HSE car park at the rear of the Raheen Industrial Estate today. The birds have been seen there in increasing numbers over the past three weeks (Joe Collins).
Flocks of eleven anf 20 Whooper Swans were at Athlacca and Pallaskenry today (Liz Fahy).

Three Goosanders were at Shannon Banks close to St. Thomas’s Island on the Limerick/Clare border.(Paidi Cullinan and Louise Moyles)
A first winter Ring-billed Gull was at Corbally.(PC & LM)

Two White-tailed Eagles were at Mountshannon.(Paidi Cullinan and Louise Myles)
A Green Sandpiper, a Peregrine and 147 Tufted Duck were at Ardclooney.(PC & LM)
Three Goosanders were at Shannon Banks close to St. Thomas’s Island on the Clare/Limerick border.(PC & LM)
A first winter Ring-billed Gull was in the same area.(PC & LM)

The Caspian Gull was seen at O’Callaghan’s Strand again today (Colin Barton).
30 Whooper Swans were at Grange (Andrew Holmes).
A Buzzard was by the N20 south of Attyflin (TT).
