Snow Bunting at Bungowla John N Murphy

A male Snow Bunting was in the quarry along the cliffs near Bungowla. (John N Murphy)

One Drake Ring-necked Duck was at Kilkee Reservoir. (JNM)

Off Ross Ringing Station this morning between 10.00 & 11.30 there were, 50 Great Shearwaters, 11 Sooty Shearwaters, 31 Manx Shearwater, one 2CY Long-tailed Skua, one dark phase Arctic Skua, one immature Pomarine Skua, an adult Bonxie, two Red-throated Diver, two Great Northern Diver and over 300 Common Gulls, all heading west. A second-winter Mediterranean Gull was near Murphy’s Point. (JNM)

One Merlin and a Chiffchaff were at Kilbaha. (JNM)

Mediterranean Gull at Ross Bay, Loop Head John N Murphy

A White-tailed Eagle and a Kingfisher were at Ballyallia this morning. Five Glossy Ibis flew east over the lake. A male Wheatear was at Templemaley. (Maura Crowe)

At Kilbaha and Loop Head today there was one male Blackcap, four Chiffchaff, one female Hen Harrier, one second-winter Mediterranean Gull and a Kingfisher at Cloghaun Lough. (John N Murphy)

A White-tailed Eagle, two Kingfisher and a female Pochard were at Lough Atedaun.(James Organ)

The juvenile Dotterel at Fodry, Loop Head Chris Cullen

A juvenile Dotterel and a Jack Snipe were at Fodry, Loop Head (Chris Cullen), also at the headland there were 350 Golden Plover, one Peregrine, two Merlin and five Reed Bunting. (John N Murphy & CC)

In Kilbaha village and surrounds there was a male Blackcap, three Chiffchaff, one Buzzard, one Merlin, one second-winter Mediterranean Gull and over 700 Herrings Gulls. ( JNM & CC)

Five Glossy Ibis were at Ballyallia until flushed by Peregrine. Three Ruff were there also. One immature White-tailed Eagle (42 blue), a male Marsh Harrier, a female Pochard, 13 Whooper Swan and two Kingfisher were at Lough Atedaun. (James Organ)

A male Merlin was at Brews Bridge. A Kingfisher was at Moyasta. A female Hen Harrier was at Kilcredaun. (Sean & Peter Whelan)

A Kingfisher was on the Shannon at the Mill Road, Corbally (TT).

Two Buzzards were at Clashganniff, Shanagolden (Clodagh Glasgow).

Immature Merlin at Ross Ringing Station John N Murphy

One Bohemian Waxwing was seen and heard as it flew east high over the Bog Road, Kilbaha. The juvenile White-rumped Sandpiper was still at Cloghaun Lough. A male Blackcap was at Seni Costelloe’s garden. One Merlin was hunting the lighthouse area and a female Wheatear was also around the walls of the lighthouse. One Merlin was also hunting at Ross Ringing Station. (John N Murphy)

At Loop Head Lighthouse gardens this morning there was one female Greenland Wheatear, two Redwing, one Goldfinch, two Merlin and 220 Golden Plover. (JNM)

At Rineville Bay there was one male Peregrine, one female Greenland Wheatear, 200 Golden Plover and hundreds of seabirds feeding in the mouth of the Shannon River. (JNM)

One female Wheatear was at Murphy’s Point, Loop Head. (JNM)
