Clare Bird Sightings

The continuing Glossy Ibis pair were still at the field adjacent to the City WWTP (Donogh Sweeney).

A Kingfisher was on the Shannon at the Ferry playground, Castleconnell. A Blackcap was in song at the same location (DS).

A Black-throated Diver was at the Flaggy Shore.(Sean Holland)

A male Great Spotted Woodpecker was at Derrycnaw near Lough Atorick. (Chris Cullen)

Another Great Spotted Woodpecker was near Booltiagh, Kilmaley. (Catherine D’Arcy)

A male Hawfinch was at Curraghchase (per Rare & Scarce Birds – Wayne Greene-Salm).

A Green Sandpiper was at Clarina (Gerry Murphy).

Three Sandmartins were at Ballyallia Lake (Chris Cullen) with one at Fenloe Lake (John N Murphy).

The continuing adult Iceland Gull was at Howley’s Quay (Donogh Sweeney).

There were three Sand Martin at Adroon Bridge.(Cliff Baxter)

There was one Common Sandpiper at Clarecastle Quay.(John N Murphy)

The Semi-palmated Sandpiper and 12 Chough were at Seafield. (John N Murphy)
