A Glossy Ibis was seen at the Coonagh Nature Reserve today(Tom Tarpey) along with five Little Egrets, a drake Gadwall and a pair of Common Terns. The Ibis was feeding and roosting at the spit in the lower lagoon and eventually flew eastwards towards the City.

Two Wheatears, eight Whimbrel and 80 Swifts were new arrivals at Coonagh. 16 Pochard and eight Tufted Duck were also present.

A drake Garganey was seen at Coonagh this morning. This the third successive spring record for the site. The bird was in the lagoon to the east of the tunnel north portal. Six Swifts, a Cuckoo, 22 Whimbrel, 12 Tufted Duck, four Pochard, three pairs of Great-crested Grebes, a Little Egret and a Greenshank were also present.

A Cuckoo was heard calling at Aughinish Island today.
Two Blackcaps and a Chiffchaff were at Ballyfrawley, Newcastle West.

Two Whimbrels joined the high tide roost at Coonagh this morning.
A Whimbrel was also seen at the Mill Road, Corbally.
