There was a flock of 12 Crossbills near Athea West this morning with one large young male bird in the flock showing two rosé coloured wing-bars.
A male Hen Harrier was seen near Effin.

292 Wigeon, 55 Tufted Duck, 48 Teal, 11 Gadwall, eight Shoveler, three Scaup and at least one Water Rail were at Lough Gur.
Eleven Whooper Swans, inc. two juveniles, were at Rathcannon.

17 Whooper Swans were at Athlacca. Only two of the flock were juvenile birds. Three Mute Swans were also in attendance.
A Dipper was seen on the Shannon at Castleoaks, Castleconnell.

A White-tailed Eagle was seen crossing the Newport Road at Carrowkeel, Annacotty today.

Monday 25th November 2013

A Goldeneye, a Long-tailed Duck, a Scaup and 26 Gadwall were at Coonagh today. The Goldeneye is a first record for the site. Five Skylarks were also seen there.

A Buzzard was seen again today at Curraghchase.

The branch outing to Curraghchase was very well attended however birds proved to be somewhat scarce. Several Jays were seen however most proved to be shy and elusive. A Buzzard was seen briefly being mobbed by a crow, however it was only seen by one observer . A few Red Squirrels were also seen briefly.

A Buzzard was seen today at Kilcornan, at the Currachase junction.
The pair of Long-tailed Ducks remained at Coonagh.

The two Long-tailed Ducks were still at Coonagh. Other birds of note there were a family party of five Whooper Swans.

An adult American Golden Plover was seen today from the hide east of Poulaweela Creek(Geoff Hunt).
