Two Sand Martins, three Chiffchaffs in song and the immature Marsh Harrier were at Coonagh this morning (Tom Tarpey & Gerry Murphy).
This is the earliest date for Sand Martins in Limerick, being about two weeks ahead of early arrivals in previous years.
A flock of about 180 Cormorants were fishing in the Shannon at Coonagh (TT & GM).
A 2nd winter Ring-billed Gull was at Foynes (Irishbirding).

Marsh Harrier Tom Tarpey
A Great Spotted Woodpecker was heard drumming at Portnard, Cappamore. Two Buzzards were also in the area. (Gearoid Jackson).
Am immature Marsh Harrier and a Buzzard were at Coonagh (TT).
Two Blackcaps were at Monaleen (TT) and another two were at Crecora (Derek Casey).
A Buzzard was at Ballysimon (DC).

Two 1st winter Iceland Gulls were on the Shannon in Limerick City (TT).
Four Buzzards were at Fort East, north of Charleville (John N Murphy).
A Norwegian ringed Common Gull, White JH584, was at Thomond Weir. The bird was ringed on 7/10/2018, in its 1st year, in the province of Rogaland in the southwest of the country and was still in Norway on 4/4/2019 (TT).
