Distant shot of the immature Garganey at the Shannon Airport Lagoon John N Murphy
One Wryneck was at Loop Head Lighthouse this evening at 19.30 (Noel Keogh). Also at Loop Head were two Swifts and the four Ruff were still at Cloghaun Lough. One immature Garganey was at the Shannon Airport Lagoon along with seven Wigeon, nine Shoveler, six Gadwall and two Wheatears. There were two Little Stints and one Curlew Sandpiper at Rinnville beach. One male Chiffchaff was singing at Applewood, Ballycar. There was a flock of 22 Mistle Thrushes on the outskirts of Shannon Town.

Wheatears were very plentiful at Loop Head today John N Murphy
Off the tip of Loop Head this morning there were over 500 Sooty Shearwaters, one adult and one juvenile Sabine’s Gull, two Bonxies, one first-winter Mediterranean Gull and a Blue-finned Tuna. Around the headland in front of the lighthouse there was one immature Pied Flycatcher, one Reed Warbler, one Whinchat, 12 Golden Plover and over 70 Wheatear and hundreds of Meadow Pipits, all over the head. In the gardens in Kilbaha there were two Spotted Flycatchers, two Sedge Warblers, one Chiffchaff and three Redpoll. On the rocky beach off Cloghaun Lough there were four Ruff, five Whimbrel, five Turnstone and six White Wagtails, just off shore in the estuary there were hundreds of gulls feeding with five Arctic Terns, one first winter Mediterranean Gull and a dark phased Arctic Skua. There were five juvenile Curlew Sandpipers and one Little Stint at Seafield, Quilty.

A Wood Sandpiper was at the Charleville Lagoons.
A Chiffchaff was singing at Monaleen.

There were three Curlew Sandpiper and one Ruff at Seafield, Quilty this morning. At Loop Head today there was one Spotted Flycatcher, two Wheatear, one Kingfisher, 11 Golden Plover and nine Chough.

One first-winter Citrine Wagtail was at Lough Gash, Newmarket-on-Fergus this morning (John N Murphy)(9.30). This is only a second county record and seven other observers saw the bird with the last sighting at 18.30 this evening. There were also three White Wagtails and about 50 Pied Wagtails at Lough Gash. There were also two Green Sandpipers at Lough Gash later in the afternoon.

Juvenile White-winged Black Tern at Coonagh John N Murphy
The juvenile White-winged Black Tern was still at Coonagh this morning flying between the two main ponds (John N Murphy). Also at Coonagh were seven Wigeon, four Little Egrets and a Sedge Warbler.
