Four Crossbills were seen near Athea.
One Little Egret flew over the main road near the church at Robertstown Creek.

Saturday 10th December 2011

Black-headed Gull Yellow 208P was seen at Harvey’s Quay. The bird was ringed as a nestling at Lough Mask, Co. Mayo in June 2007, was first seen in Limerick in March 2009 and has been seen here on six occasions since.

Sunday 11th December 2011

The female Marsh Harrier was at Tool’s Lough.
There were seven Great Northern Divers, 30 plus Brent Geese and 200 Common Scoter at Doorus Pier on the Clare/Galway border.
Over 200 Brent Geese were in a field near Finvarra Point.
Seven Purple Sandpipers and five Great Northern Divers were at the Flaggy Shore.
One Merlin was at Applewood, Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus.

There were five Yellowhammers at Mullaghmore.
One Peregrine was at Lough Atedaun.
One Little Egret was at Drumcliff, Ballyallia along with 22 Whooper Swans.
There were three Woodcock at Rath, Corofin.

Tuesday 6th December 2011

The female Marsh Harrier was seen hunting at Tool’s Lough again today.
One juvenile Hen Harrier wearing wing tags (orange on left, green on right) was seen hunting around Ballyallia Lake along with one Peregrine, two Little Egrets, 19 Whooper Swans and 30 Pintail.

A flock of 12 Greylag Geese and one Water Rail were at Ballycar Lough, Newmarket-on-Fergus.
