Summer plumaged Red Knot at Seafield John N Murphy

A seawatch at the Bridges of Ross between 05.45-15.45 produced one Leach’s Storm Petrel, two light morphed adult Pomarine Skua, 300 Manx Shearwater, three Tufted Duck flying west and 11 Purple Sandpiper.(Niall Keogh & Noel Keogh)

Seven Great Northern Diver in summer plumage, 30 Purple Sandpiper and two Knot (one in summer plumage), 140 Dunlin, 180 Sanderling, 30 Whimbrel and 40 Turnstone were at Seafield. (John N Murphy)

One of the ringed Dunlin at Seafield John N Murphy

An adult Little Ringed Plover was at Seafield.(John N Murphy)(only a 2nd county record, previously recorded in 2006)

There were eight Great Northern Diver at Lahinch, one in winter plumage, two Red-throated Diver and 45 Common Scoter.(JNM)

A colour ringed Dunlin was at Seafield with the letters ATV on a blue ring on left leg.(JNM)

A second colour ringed Dunlin was at Seafield with white over red on left leg and HHU on yellow ring on right leg.(JNM)

Curlew at Doonbeg John N Murphy

The White-billed Diver, seven summer plumaged Great Northern Diver, six Red-throated Diver and 40 Common Scoter were at Lahinch Bay.(John N Murphy & Jeff Copner)

During the Clare Branch BWI Dawn Chorus outing to the Burren three Common Sandpiper, a Cuckoo, a Wheatear and a Whitethroat were seen at Knockaunroe/Lough Gealáin. Whitethroat, Cuckoo, Willow Warbler and Blackcap were singing at Finn’s Cross. (Nuala & Tom Lynch, Sean & Peter Whelan, Charlie Lyons.)

One Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Jay were at Muchanagh between Rossroe and Fenloe Lakes. (JNM)

A Great White Egret was at Ringmoylan Pier (Sean Doyle).

A Buzzard, a Kestrel and a Swift were seen on the annual Limerick Branch outing to the Doon area. A Grasshopper Warbler, two Whitethroats and numerous Willow Warblers and Blackcaps were also in song in the area (Mara van Aelst, Gyr Penn, Tom Tarpey et al.).

A Peregrine was at Dooradoyle (Donogh Sweeney).
