Two Goosanders(redheads) were on the Shannon just downstream from Corbally Weir. The birds were seen previously on Nov.21st upstream of Athlunkard Bridge. Four Goldeneye, 30 Tufted Duck, four Wigeon, 15 Teal, a Redshank, a Jack Snipe, a Little Egret and two Dippers were also seen along the river in the Corbally area (Maura Turner & Tom Tarpey).

25 Mallard, 37 Tufted Duck, six Mute Swans, nine Cormorants, a Little Egret and two Herons were on the Shannon between Plassey and the Shannon Fields (TT).
20 Wigeon, eight Shoveler, five Teal and two Snipe and a Kestrel were at Coonagh (Maura Turner).

An adult and first winter Buzzard were just west of The Ferry Bridge and another first winter was at Curraghchase.(Nuala and Tom Lynch, Maura Turner, Clodagh Glasgow and Gearóid Jackson et al). Several Jays and Red Squirrels were also seen at Curraghchase during the joint Limerick & Clare Branch outing.
Buzzards were also seen today at Rosbrien (TT, first winter) and Kilcullane, Bruff (Tony Mee) and at Adare in recent days (per Andrew Holmes).
